Scorching Hot Suns Torched Miami Heat; Clinches West Playoff Spot

March 9, 2022 – The Phoenix Suns faced the hot Miami Heat at FTX Arena in Florida.

The top team in the league today, Phoenix Suns, took a huge blowout win against the Miami Heat (111-90) in a matchup between two of the top seeds in each conference. Phoenix rises to 53-13, while Miami is now 44-23.

Even though the Suns were still Chris Paul-less, the team still managed to heavily torch Miami.

The suns were led by the superstar shooting guard Devin Booker who had 23 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. Another five (5) Suns players also contributed 10 plus points for their victory on Wednesday night. Bridges had 21, Ayton had 19, while Crowder, McGee, and Payne all had 11 points.

The Miami Heat led the Suns early in the first quarter until it became a close game at the half. Both teams went back-and-forth at each other but the Suns were slowly taking over the game at the 3rd quarter. Since then, the Heat has lost their offensive flow and never recovered from the deficit.

Duncan Robinson contributed 23 points for the Heat, while Adebayo and Herro both had 17 points each. They were playing well, but the effect of Jimmy Butler being out of the game took a toll on their defense. The trio of Adebayo, Robinson, and Herro played well but the team underperformed as a whole.

The two towers of Phoenix, DeAndre Ayton and JaVale McGee were outrebounding the small-ball lineup of the Heat. The Suns’ offense was also a beauty to watch and Devin Booker was kicking his defender’s ass every time down the court. They are truly showing that they are the best team in the NBA today and that they are not to be taken for granted.

Phoenix Suns also is the first team in the NBA today to clinch a playoff spot in the coming playoffs.

They have now secured a ticket for a championship and will try to push for another deep playoff run this year. The meeting between two of the top teams in the league today was not what we expected it to be.

Will we see these two teams take the center stage in the NBA Finals? Or are they just another playoff disappointment? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. For more content, stay with us, here at Spiel Times.
