Satoshi Mizukami’s Sengoku Youko manga is all set to receive an anime adaptation, as announced on the manga’s official website on 10th August 2023. The official website of the Sengoku Youko manga has confirmed the cast, crew, and release date for the series’  anime adaptation.

Along with this update, the website also posted a promotional clip and a key visual for the anime. The 2024 anime season is going to start with a banger, as the Sengoku Youko anime is going to make its debut in January 2024. The plot revolves around two brothers who travel through Sengoku-era Japan in order to protect the peace and fight evil.

Sengoku Youko is a manga written by Satoshi Mizukami, well known for his works The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer and Spirit Circle. The manga was published in Blade Online from December 2007 to May 2016, with 99 chapters divided into two sections. Sengoku Youko manga is based on two protagonists Tama and Jinka. It follows the story of Tama, a fox spirit, and Jinka, her human friend whom she treats as an older brother. The two wander the land in search of monsters who wreak devastation on innocent inhabitants.

Tama and Jinka’s journey takes an unexpected turn when they come across a monster that was once human, as well as the human priests who turned the human into a monster for selfish reasons.

Tama adores humanity and wishes to see the evil that affects them vanquished. Meanwhile, Jinka despises human beings but despises demons much more. Their bond appears and feels symbiotically easy when they are together, yet the layers conceal a complicated past for each that enriches their journey.
