“We Know” Mysterious Note
This game offers a lot of side missions and extra stuff to explore, and one of the most well-known questlines in the game begins with the discovery of a mystery note.
Note Explained
The note is a secret invitation to join The Dark Brotherhood. Players should sleep in a bed after obtaining it. After being kidnapped by a Dark Brotherhood assassin, they will have the option of joining the shadowy group or declining the request.
It’s worth noting that if players decline the invitation, they’ll be locked out of all future Dark Brotherhood quests. Finding the note in Skyrim and joining the Dark Brotherhood is strongly recommended for the most prizes, including the rare horse Shadowmere, the Ancient Shrouded Armor set, and the Muiri marriage possibility.
Location
- Travel to any inn and inquire about the latest news until they mention Aventus Aretino attempting to perform the Black Sacrament in Windhelm OR inquire about Aventus with the children in the Honorhall Orphanage in Riften.
- Accept Aventus’ offer to begin the “Innocence Lost” quest by speaking with him in Windhelm.
- Kill Grelod at the Honorhall Orphanage.
- Wait at least 24 hours.
- To receive the note, travel to a city.
