‘Solo Leveling’ is getting its own video game and anime adaptation

‘Solo Leveling’ is originally written by Chugong and in 2018, DUBU took over as the artist of the manhwa. This news was especially shocking to fans since the future of the webtoon seems to be bright. Aside from the manhwa getting its own video game, one of the things fans and DUBU have been looking forward to is the anime adaptation of ‘Solo Leveling.’

Just a few weeks ago, A-1 Pictures has announced that they are responsible for creating the anime adaptation of the webtoon. If you’re familiar with Sword Art Online and Erased, A-1 Pictures is the animation studio behind these beloved anime.

So this was shocking news for everyone since it was more than unexpected. However, Jang Sung-rak has always been transparent with his health condition.

In the past, Jang Sung-rak would take breaks in between creating the manhwa because of his health. He uploaded the final chapter of ‘Solo Leveling’ last December 29, 2021. Moreover, he was able to create a total of 179 chapters for Chugong’s story.

Jang Sung-rak, or DUBU, will continue to live on in the hearts of the manhwa community. We at Spiel Times offer our sincerest condolences to Jang Sung-rak’s family, friends, and colleagues.
