A gaming analyst breaks down how the system of State of Play works, explaining how these activities come together. The upcoming PlayStation event will be on Wednesday, October 27 at 2:00PM (PT). This event will primarily emphasize third-party games for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy 16, Forspoken, and Call of Duty: Vanguard may all receive exciting news.

State of Play Breakdown

  • @millieamand, a Twitter user who specializes in video game data, provided this breakdown. The first consideration is Sony’s fiscal year, which includes a schedule of State of Play and PlayStation Showcase events.
  • Each of these timeframes has a one-week window in which Sony can modify them if necessary. This is if an asset is late or if a real-world incident causes an interruption.
  • Following that, Sony discusses to third-party organizations who have signed pre-contractual deals to attend the State of Play event.
  • Leading up to the official statement, all developers and publishers must send Sony all assets. If in case an asset isn’t ready on time, Sony can use transitions or videos from its own data to store it. Hardware footage, accessories, and pre-prepared sizzle coils are a few examples.
  • After that, two weeks before the due date, the team will edit the base structure of the video beforehand. Producers will then approve the daily submissions as the assets will be integrated into the structure.
  • When the overall product is complete, the departments review and sign the full PlayStation game status. The video is then integrated into Sony channels.
