Xbox Scarlett

Update (Monday, 10th June, 4:25 am IST): The information leaked was absolutely right. In the announcement, Microsoft confirmed 8K resolution support, 120 frames per second, SSD as virtual ram, four generations of content and faster loading times.

“For us, the console is vital and central to our experience,” Phil Spencer said. “We heard you. A console should be designed and built and optimised for one thing and one thing only: gaming.”

He said, “The same team that created the world’s most powerful console – Xbox One X and innovated its groundbreaking processor and the elite controller, the same team that engineered world-class compatibility of today’s Xbox One consoles, the same team that set the bar for live gaming services with Xbox Live, this same team, set out on a new mission – to create the future of gaming for you.”

The next-generation console will be powered by a custom-designed processor leveraging the latest Zen 2 and Navi technology from AMD. This is four times more powerful than the Xbox One X. Also, with Project Scarlett, the company’s leveraging high bandwidth GDDR6 to ensure players get the best performance possible.

Additionally, the console will allow next-generation real-time ray tracing as it will be the first hardware accelerated console ever.
