Spider-Man: No Way Home, Wakanda Forever Possible Connection Explained

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home has officially been introduced in cinemas, and it appears to be driving fans wild with all of the guest appearances and personalities who return from Marvel’s past. It also outlines a subplot from the film – Peter Parker, his sweetheart MJ, and his best buddy Ned Leeds are all attempting to get accepted to MIT and be able to attend university together.

Unfortunately, since Peter Parker’s secret as Spider-Man has been revealed, Peter and his friends’ hopes of getting into any campus have been hampered by Mysterio’s claim that Spidey is to blame for his death, dragging his friends along with him.

  • Peter, MJ, and Ned have all submitted applications to the same campus. They all want to go to MIT. However, none of them are welcomed as a result of the Spider-Man scandal and Peter’s unveiling. It is this that prompts Peter to seek the assistance of Doctor Strange for a spell that will make everyone forget that he’s Spider-Man.

  • When Peter goes to MJ’s coffee shop to explain what transpired, he discovers that she and Ned have both been accepted to MIT. However, both of them don’t recall who he is. Not only that, but they’re both happy, peaceful, and unconcerned about Spider-Man or the catastrophe they just survived.
  • As a result, he decides to leave them alone. It’s a tragic moment that separates the three once-inseparable pals. They aren’t the only ones who have been accepted to MIT; Flash Thompson will also be attending the same campus.

MIT Connection

  • Ironheart’s freshman term at the university might coexist with MJ and Ned’s. Riri Williams is played by Dominique Thorne, a teenage genius who constructs her own bodysuit in her dormitory from fragments of Iron Man’s suits. Ironheart will reappear in the Black Panther sequel.

  • It’s reasonable to see how Shuri’s (Princess of Wakanda) participation at the closing of Black Panther—sharing Wakanda’s riches with Oakland and the rest of the world—could lead to her becoming an MIT professor. The parallels are also present because Erik Killmonger was an MIT alumnus.
  • It’s also possible that Wakanda requires Riri’s brilliance. In any case, we’re looking forward to seeing how this all pans out. And, of course, it appears even more important in light of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
