The third installment of Nintendo’s third-person shooter, Splatoon 3 finally has a release date. After it was first announced last year, gamers expected that it will release sometime this summer. However, the latest announcement from Nintendo revealed that Splatoon 3 is officially coming this September 9.
The new trailer for Splatoon 3 features a new stage
Nintendo dropped the first gameplay trailer for Splatoon 3 along with its release date last April 22. From the trailer, we can see a 4v4 Turf War battle happening. And like the previous Splatoon games, your goal is to cover up the map with your team’s colors as much as you can before the match ends.
Moreover, the trailer features a new stage called ‘Eeltail Alley’ where the 4v4 Turf War is taking place. The release date video for Splatoon 3 features a whole round’s worth of gameplay, and it’s definitely interesting to see the new things Splatoon has to offer its players.
Splatoon 3 introduces new weapons, stages, and special abilities
After Splatoon 2 launched nearly five years ago, it’s definitely time for an upgrade. Some new feature arriving in Splatoon 3 is a new single-player campaign called “Return of the Mammalians”. Similar to the previous games’ campaign mode, you will be facing off against the Octarians as Agent 3.
But if you want to play the multiplayer modes, keep in mind that you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
Nintendo includes Splatoon 2 DLC in NSO Expansion Pack
Finally, Nintendo concludes its Splatoon announcements with news about Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion DLC. If you purchased the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, you automatically have access to the Octo Expansion DLC.
In this DLC, you can take on more levels featuring new boss fights. Additionally, completing the DLC rewards you with an Octoling avatar for your Nintendo account.
You can now pre-order Splatoon 3 ahead of its September 9 release date.
