It was five years ago that Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced to be in its earliest developmental stage. Ever since then Square Enix has been teasing us with little details of how their efforts will help make the game better than its predecessors.

A few hours ago, Square Enix revealed via. an official twitter post, details about the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. The developers have schedule it for release on both the PS4 and the Xbox One on January 29, 2019. Prior to that, a few days ago, a Walmart leak revealed that a certain Spanish company had listed the game for pre-order for Xbox One. Perhaps, the rumours were true after all.

The developers had earlier, also revealed that their game would feature some classic mini games in the shape of numerous LCD games from the 1980s-era and many Mickey Mouse animated shorts from around that time.

Director Tetsuya Nomura sincerely apologised for the delay via. a twitter post, since the game’s initial release had been moved from 2018 to 2019.

“We’ve announced the release day for KINGDOM HEARTS III ahead of E3 at the KINGDOM HEARTS Orchestra -World Tour-. I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you.”
