The Worst Witch actor Bella Ramsey left Twitter in late April. She left a closing note for the fans on her Twitter account, which is no longer verified.

In her final tweet, she made the announcement and bid farewell to both the social media platform and her big “gay army.”

In the opening of her tweet, Bella praised the interactions she had received on social media. However, she made no mention of the reason behind her abrupt withdrawal from the platform. The post included a GIF of Bella’s character Ellie from The Last of Us waving and leaving.

In any case, Bella’s followers offered encouragement by responding to their original message with warm wishes and flattering remarks.

Bella last tweeted in March when she published a vintage image in honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility.

Some days ago, in an interview, Bella talked about being made fun of for her appearance after being singled out by video game fans.

In the same interview, the actor said that some fans were upset when Bella was first revealed as the actor playing Ellie. This is because they felt she didn’t look like the popular character sufficiently.

Due to this, several fans thought that Bella might have left because of online trolls and cruel remarks. Many of her followers even expressed their regret that she would no longer be utilizing the platform.

Bella uploaded the tweet one day after Twitter removed the blue checks. The mark has been removed from accounts that had been verified as “active, notable, and authentic.” The checks were removed after Elon Musk became the app’s CEO. Celebrities, public personalities, and government representatives such as Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Lady Gaga, and others were also impacted by the de-verification process.

Many other celebrities have commented on the de-checking. Some embraced being “unverified.” On the other hand, others made it clear that they don’t want to continue using the app. Nor do they want to pay the $8 monthly Twitter Blue subscription. However, it’s unclear whether Bella’s decision to permanently leave Twitter was influenced by this de-verification process or something else.
