“The Adventure Ends” for Bluehold’s Tera; Shutting Down This June

After 10 wonderful years, the PC version of TERA will be bidding goodbye to its players on June 30, 2022.

Tera is an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) developed by Bluehole and published by GameForge back in 2012. For years, they have been giving amazing content and quality gameplay to their fans. But, sadly, everything must come to an end.

“After careful deliberations, the developers of TERA (Bluehole) have unfortunately taken the difficult decision to end development of the game, as they feel that they are no longer able to provide the satisfying content that TERA players deserve,”

The game will officially shut down its PC servers on the 30th of June, 2022 (time EST).
As a result, in-game purchases and account registration will also be deactivated on that day. Coincidentally, Tera will also celebrate its 10th anniversary in May, which makes it more saddening.

Can I still play Tera on console?

There is no definite answer yet if Tera’s console servers will still be up and running after the PC version closes. But, the publisher for Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game is Krafton, which means it could be unlikely that they’ll be affected.

How do I migrate my Tera account from PC to Console?

As of now, you can’t. Tera’s announcement page noted that migration will not be an option for PC users.

Admit it or not, MMORPGs are a dying genre. They ruled the gaming scene some 10 or 15 years ago but were quickly replaced by MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battlefield Arena), Soulslike RPGs (Role Playing Games), and FPS (first-person shooting) games

Fortunately, people who still are into MMORPGs still have a handful of games to choose from. The classic World of Warcraft is still going strong and now is getting the new Dragonflight Expansion that features a new race, class, weapons, and more. Also, Elder Scrolls Online is a very trending MMO today.
