Just four episodes into the third season but Amazon is already jumping the gun to push the beloved superhero satire series, The Boys, for Season 4.

“From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three of ‘The Boys,’ we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder — an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season,” Amazon’s head of global television, Vernon Sanders, added in a statement regarding Amazon picking The Boys for a fourth season. “’ The Boys’ continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real. This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that. We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of ‘The Boys’ to our customers.”

According to Amazon, The Boys Season 3 premiere saw an increase in viewership by 17% from season 2 and a whopping 234% from the first season. After an extremely bloody first three episodes (which by the way isn’t new to us), Amazon Prime Video confirmed that Season 4 will commence very soon.

While it’s not wildly new to Billy Butcher and Homelander’s fans since Karl Urban (Billy Butcher) teased everyone that they will be shooting “The Boys” through the end of this year. It seems pretty odd knowing that the shooting for Season 3 already wrapped up last year.

The Boys Season 3 Recap

The third season of The Boys gave everyone what they’d always expected. The sick gore, bloody deaths, spontaneous head popping, HOMELANDER, and … exploding genitalia? Well, that just means there’s always something more we haven’t seen yet!

Meanwhile, the most anticipated character, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), made his awaited debut this season. Although, he looks to be more powerful than what he was previously depicted in history. Shall we see a Homelander/Soldier Boy duo? Or will it be a terrifying standoff between two of the most powerful supes in town? We’d love to see the latter. Also, Antony Starr (Homelander) definitely deserves an Emmy even with just his sinister smile!

The Boys season 3 premiere last June 3 dropped the first three episodes at once. Meanwhile, the next episodes will air every Thursday on Amazon Prime Video. This Amazon original series is based on the comic book franchise of the same name by Garth Ennis and is produced by Kripke Enterprises, Sony, and Amazon.
