Top 5 Anime Deaths of All Time
5. Koro Sensei (Assassination Classroom)
- Episode: Season 2, Episode 24
Assassination Classroom follows the story of a cheerful yellow alien who poses a threat to the world, and it becomes the responsibility of a particular junior high school class to prevent this disaster. Koro-Sensei, the teacher of Class 3-E, is both adored and feared. The students must not only learn from him but also carry out a mission to assassinate him at any cost.
The end of the show shows us the sad moments of the students together with Koro-sensei. It shows us this memory, and then Nagisa stabs Koro-sensei’s heart with a knife. While this happens, the song called “Tabidachi No Uta” plays, making the moment even more emotional as they remember the good times they had with Koro-sensei.
We all feel, to this day, that this world may never see again a tentacle man with such a good heart and love for his family.
4. Itachi Uchiha (Naruto: Shippuden)
- Episode: Season 7, Episode 138
At first, Itachi Uchiha from Naruto might seem like a bad guy and the biggest enemy of Sasuke, but as the story unfolds, he turns out to be actually a caring big brother who fought tirelessly for his village’s sake.
While battling Sasuke in the end, Itachi’s terminal illness was at its worst, and he was running out of time. In a sense, this fight was his way of trying to make Sasuke stronger and reconnect with him before he passed away.

The same goes for the battle to rescue Ace, which was filled with intense emotional moments. From this heartfelt moment with Whitebeard to this reunion with Luffy.
But in the end, Ace made a sacrifice, as he took a powerful attack through his chest to protect the boy he considered a brother, Luffy. In total shock, Ace dies in the hands of Luffy who was desperately pleading for someone to save Ace. Sadly, it was already too late.
2. Erwin Smith (Attack on Titan)
- Episode: Season 3, Episode 18
Attack on Titan can be a really harsh show at times (or maybe most of the time), and many characters have had to say their farewells while defending Paradis Island. Although the series has warned its viewers about the tough times ahead, so Attack on Titan fans understand that they shouldn’t anticipate much positivity.
- Erwin, despite being a slave to his curiosity, was an exceptional leader. In the end, he spoke about how the living gives meaning to the departed and led a daring charge toward the Titans, allowing Levi to approach the enemy undetected.
- He charged forward without fear, even in the face of imminent death. Until his final breath, Erwin continued to ask questions, never finding satisfaction in the harsh answers the world provided. When such a remarkable man falls, it’s impossible not to shed a tear, if only out of respect.
