The parkour system and the trailer breakdown of the new Assassin’s Creed Mirage

3 Tiers of Parkour Progression

In the trailer, the character of Basim Ibn Ishaq went from being a reckless young boy into a fearless assassin. There is a parkour progression seen in his character as the players go on through the game.

  1. The Thief

    • Basim was only a young boy with no knowledge and skills yet of being an assassin. He seems to be a young thief that has the potential to be a great assassin due to his agility and perseverance.
    • As we watch the trailer, there is an unknown assassin watching over him and helping him at the end. This is when Basim failed to escape from the guards trying to capture him.
    • You can also notice on the trailer that Basim made a mistake in jumping onto the wall, suggesting that the game may have some sort of talent mastery that may need to be enhanced or leveled up throughout the game so attempting some wall climbing mechanics may be easier as you progress through the game.
  2. The Apprentice

    • This is the transition of Basim where he became an assassin’s apprentice. As he was chosen and guided by actual assassins. In this tier, players are going to unlock some of the parkour skills.
  3. The Assassin –

    • Basim is now a master assassin who goes on intense combat fights. At this level, players are going to unlock all of the combat and parkour skills as well.
    • We have yet to see whether combat skills are subdivided into different specializations.

The parkour system and other details on the trailer

Design and Environment

  • Looking at the game trailer, the environment is very fitting to perform parkour styles and skills. Barim can move freely up in the buildings and even use props along the way against the enemies.
  • The design of the city is certainly ideal with the parkour system, unlike the previous Assasin’s Creed games. As the graphics of the game also looks realistic and has improved a lot.

New Parkour Animation

  • This game also offers a whole new animation to try on soon. It features these two animation things that fit in doing parkour. The first one is Corner Swing, which allows Basim to go up in the corner of the buildings. While the second one Pole Vaulting is a unique one unlike the rest but we are yet to see more of it.
  • The speed of Basim’s movements has also increased since the parkour system of this game is much faster. So Basim gets to move quickly as he travels into the different environments of the game.
  • On top of that, Basim is said to be more faster and agile than the other assassins.

The new setting trap

  • There is a new setting trap that is said to be not seen in the previous Assassin’s Creed games. The setting trap seen in the trailer is the mine trap which can kill the enemies.
  • This setting trap is going to affect the AI (enemies) playing style in the game. Besides, there are more setting traps to look forward to in the game.
