Ubisoft: New Shooter Game “Pathfinder” Reportedly Confirmed

Are you tired of Fortnite, PUBG, Apex Legends, and COD? Well, UBISOFT just got something new for you. The famous video game company is reportedly working on a new battle royale game called “Pathfinder”.

There are some leaks about the game’s detail being passed around the community as of late and it already looks promising!

• Pathfinder is a third-person shooter battle royale game that features a PvPvE (Player versus Player versus Environment) gameplay. Players will also encounter AI enemies throughout the game. At the end of each round, they will also have to face an AI boss.
• It will have some kind of visual similarity to Ubisoft’s Hyper Scape (which will soon be canceled)
• Game characters will be heroes with unique skills and abilities (similar to Apex Legends). The heroes and their respective abilities are yet to be announced in the future.
• Reports also say that Pathfinder will be team-based. At the beginning of each round, teams consisting of four heroes will be dropped in an unknown place where each team will battle it out until only one team survives.

Ubisoft’s previous project, Hyper Scape, failed to make noise in the world of gaming and was never able to find an audience.

Hyper Scape will officially shut down in less than a month.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and shut the game down as of April 28. We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience, and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.” – Ubisoft’s announcement on shutting down Hyper Scape

Ultimately, however, Pathfinder could become Ubisoft’s second shot at the battle royale genre. That is if ever this becomes a huge hit in the future. Until then, we might have to wait a bit more.
