VCT Americas 2023: Kyedae calls out fans blaming TenZ for Sentinels’ losses – Does he have COVID?

VCT Americas 2023 Kyedae calls out fans blaming TenZ for Sentinels' losses - Does he have COVID - Featured

Hours after the Sentinels face a tough loss at the hands of Leviatán, Tenz’s fiancee, Kyedae, took to Twitter to come to his defense. In her posts, Kyedae calls out fans in the VALORANT community who are blaming TenZ for Sentinels’ consecutive losses at the VCT Americas League 2023. She revealed that during their recent match, TenZ was not only dealing with his injury but also battling COVID-19.

What has been happening to Sentinels and TenZ at the VCT Americas 2023?

Despite being one of the most dominant teams in VALORANT esports, Sentinels are having a tough time finding their footing at the VCT Americas 2023. After suffering a frustrating loss against Leviatán yesterday, fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment. To make matters worse, Sentinels CEO Rob Moore announced something shocking that had fans truly wondering just what is going on with Sentinels behind closed doors.

  • In their April 9 match against NRG, the VALORANT community became worried with how Sentinels were performing. They were unable to emerge victorious over NRG after that brutal 0-2 loss.
  • Following that, the team also caved to Leviatán in their most recent match last April 16. This prompted some of the more critical fans of Sentinels to share their thoughts on Twitter, with most posts pointing out how TenZ is “losing his focus.”

  • The bottom four teams at the ongoing season of VCT Americas won’t have a chance to advance to the Playoffs. Right now, Sentinels are sitting at a very dangerous eighth place. If they want to secure a spot in the Playoffs, then they need to bounce back very quickly.
  • It didn’t take long for Tenz’s fiancee and fellow VALORANT player, Kyedae, to answer fans who were blaming TenZ for Sentinels’ consecutive losses at the offline tournament.

Kyedae defends TenZ and calls out fans who are being too critical

If you have been following VALORANT esports for a while now, then you’d know that TenZ is a powerhouse in competitive gaming. TenZ is no stranger to the VCT Americas League, having competed for the VCT Championship before and winning. He takes on aggressive roles and opens up all kinds of plays for his team in every VALORANT match he plays.

  • Unfortunately, TenZ has been dealing with a joint infection in his hand. This has been causing inflammation in his index finger as well as pain, making it quite difficult for him to play effectively.

  • However, TenZ has been giving his best in their matches in the VCT Americas League 2023.

  • Despite performing impressively well for someone who has an injury, there are still fans who criticize TenZ and even blame him for Sentinels losing. They claim that TenZ is overrated, washed up, or holding back his own team from performing well in the Regular Season.
  • In response to this, Kyedae took to Twitter to express her disappointment in toxic fans blaming TenZ and calls them out. Kyedae posted a thread that highlighted having empathy for TenZ.

  • Kyedae also took this opportunity to respond to fans who say that TenZ is overrated. The continuation of her initial tweet reads, “He has NEVER once said he is the best. I get that with his popularity will come hate, but he’s the most humble and kind hearted person I know.

“Please understand that both him and myself are only human”

Kyedae further appeals that people being too critical of TenZ should ease up as the both of them “are only human”. There have also been bashers who blame Kyedae for TenZ’s performance in the VCT Americas League 2023. According to them, Kyedae should have chosen not to tell TenZ about her condition since they claim that this is affecting his performance in esports.

Having been recently diagnosed with cancer, the 100 Thieves content creator says she would have kept it as a secret if it meant TenZ would perform well in his matches.

Does TenZ have COVID?

At the start of her thread, Kyedae revealed to her followers that TenZ tested positive for COVID after his most recent match against Leviatán. It is possible that TenZ played against Leviatán while experiencing COVID symptoms and dealing with his hand injury.

Kyedae also explained that both of them are immunocompromised. What this means is when one of them gets sick, their immune system is unable to effectively fight back against any infection or illness they are dealing with.

A lot of fans and fellow VALORANT players came to Kyedae’s and Tenz’s defense. This definitely stopped more fans from blaming TenZ for how Sentinels were performing in their recent matches in the VCT Americas League 2023.

Hopefully, they finally find the right footing before it’s too late. They still have a few more matches to play in the Regular Season. Plus, with a new head coach, maybe Sentinels will find their groove and be consistent in getting dubs through the end of the Regular Season.
