What Vinland Saga Season 1 delivered
The turmoil of Season 1 was such that it led to the eccentric death of Thorfinn’s primary object of revenge. With Askeladd gone, what Thorfinn is left with is a pursuing empty space.
For the entire season 1, the plot revolved around Thorfinn’s desire to kill Askeladd as brutally as he murdered Thorfinn’s father. But now, where does the angst of all the unfulfilled vengeance go? Based on Makoto Yukimura’s Vinrado Saga, Vinland Saga anime is a historical Viking drama.
The focus of Vinland Saga Season 2 will be on Thorfinn
Canute who was once Prince is now King. Vinland Saga Season 2 will have many things to tackle. The anime will adopt the Slave arc of the manga. Based on the real-life Vikings saga in Europe, Vinland Saga will focus on the rise of King Canute.
- With the former king dead, the Slave arc will see the protagonist enslaved in the king’s firms. While the former season was War Arc, Vinland Saga Season 2 will focus epidurally on Thorfinn repenting his sins.
- With his keptive, and also the target of vengeance gone, there’s this sinning emptiness that he must tackle. All while he is away from war, enslaved by the king. E
Expect less action in Season 2
- Vinland Saga Season 1 was released way back in 2019, captivating the newfound anime audience as well as the manga awaiters. Season 2 by the standards of its plot alone, will focus less on the violet killing strokes and more on character development.
- As it is a very important development arc for Thorfinn. What will also set Vinland Saga Season 2 apart is that there has been a studio change. It will be taken over by Studio Mappa. Given their fame post Attack on Titan Season 4, how they tackle the anime will be something to witness.
Is it available on Netflix?
- Yes, Vinland Saga Season 2 Netflix is a thing. However despite initial confusion in the community about whether Netflix will host it or not. [Click on the link to proceed to Netflix.
- Crunchyroll will also host Vinland Saga. Although in the case of Netflix China, it won’t be hosting the anime.
- What’s on Netflix also revealed that the showrunners will simulcast the anime on both Netflix and Crunchyroll. Meaning it will be released simultaneously as its official TV Release on the two platforms.
Where to watch Vinland Saga Season 2 English Dub?
But so far, there is no confirmation for the English dub release. Usually, if Crunchyroll attains the streaming rights for an anime, they immediately do an English Dub so that it can be released simultaneously with the sub-release.
But Netflix exclusively owns Vinland Saga’s Dubbing rights. Given that there is no confirmation, expect the English dub to release at a later date.
