Walt Disney World’s famous ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is shutting down for refurbishments in 2023 after facing some technical difficulties.

Fans will have to wait to ride Walt Disney World’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for a while. The ride was noted to be frequently closed due to technical difficulties recently, however, in the latest statement shared on Walt Disney World’s official website, the ride will remain closed for time being.

This indoor coaster races visitors along the Los Angeles-style freeway track and through a series of unexpected Tinseltown twists and turns. It includes three thrilling inversions namely two rollover loops and one corkscrew.

The attraction features songs by Aerosmith. Unfortunately, the fans were not able to enjoy it due to faults of synchronization, therefore, the rhythmic ride will remain temporarily closed from February 20, 2023. It will undergo regular renovations and updates so that future visitors can continue to enjoy the musical ride without any hiccups.

More Rides to Remain Closed

Apart from the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster which has been an attraction since July 1999, more rides are going to see updates in 2023.

The Tower of Terror, which is close to Rick ‘n’ Roller Coaster went through refurbishments. The ride features a series of accelerated drops of a maximum of 63 km/h in 4 minutes. Other rides such as Kali River Rapids, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Enchantment Fireworks, and Happily Ever After Fireworks will go through refurbishments in 2023.

 

Currently, Walt Disney World hasn’t confirmed a re-opening date however it will take a few months until the attractions are back up and running. According to the statement by Walt Disney World, they are hoping to reopen the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in the summer of 2023 if things go in coordination with plans.

Despite the temporary loss of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Walt Disney World will have much to offer to visitors in 2023. According to the news, many changes are expected around the park and resort.

  • Hatbox Ghost is coming to the Haunted Mansion
  • TRON lightcycle run
  • The transition from Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will begin.

2. EPCOT

  • Harmonious will be replaced with a show dedicated to Disney’s 100th anniversary.
  • Moana: Journey of Water
  • Figment Meet & Greet

3. Disney Springs

  • Summer House on The Lake.

4. Hollywood Studios

  • Roundup Rodeo BBQ

5. Resorts

  • Carousel Coffee – Disney’s Boardwalk
  • The Cake Bake Shop – Disney’s Boardwalk
  • Disney’s Boardwalk Refreshed Lobby
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Updated Lobby
