Was T1 Faker close to joining Team Liquid? | Other Teams Interested

T1 Faker, League of Legends (LoL) player

Without a doubt, League of Legends is among the most well-known games, especially in the realm of esports. With its distinctive characters, excellent visuals, engaging gameplay, developed e-sports environment, and one of the most famous e-sports athletes in gaming history, League of Legends has everything it needs to be a hit game. One such name in League of Legends (LoL) is T1 Faker, one of the most famous LoL players in the world. He has been a part of T1 for as long as we remember, so it was a surprise for fans when there were talks of T1 Faker going to LCS and being interested in joining Team Liquid and other teams. Is all of this true? Let’s find out.

Was T1 Faker close to joining Team Liquid?

Every organization in League of Legends keeps an eye on T1 Faker. This is because of his stature as a player in the community and his performances on global and regional stages. Faker has been in T1 for so long that their names are almost synonymous with each other.

But after his loss in the 2022 World Championship finals and his contract ending in 2022, there were speculations that Faker might explore other regions and options.  During these speculations, the name that came out the most were:

  • Team Liquid
  • FlyQuest
  • 100 Thieves
  • TSM
  • Golden Guardians

All these teams seemed interested in nabbing T1 Faker from his region to LCS for higher chances of winning in their region. Although no statement was ever officially made by any of these organizations, it was highly speculated by everyone in the community.

All these speculations ended when Faker renewed his League of Legends contract with T1 for the next three years, and it’s safe to say that he will be a part of T1 till 2026. In our opinion, it is suitable for him as he has a better chance of winning his 4th world title with an LCK team than an LCS team.

Why is every organization interested in T1 Faker?

T1 Faker is one of the greatest mid-lane players, if not the greatest. He has repeatedly proved why they call him “unkillable” as he always manages to sneak out of a tough situation.
