A Korean Circle Chart director, Steve Choi, recently shared a peculiar and unexpected coincidence between the recent releases of K-pop artists FIFTY FIFTY, H1-KEY, and Zior Park. All three K-pop artists seeming met success out of the blue. While analyzing their popularity Steve Choi noticed that all three rose to the charts on the 17th day after the release.

The Circle Chart director called this phenomenon K-pop’s The Law of the 17th Day. Fans might be familiar with the notable success of FIFTY FIFTY’s Cupid. However, H1-KEY and Zior Park also climbed the charts with their tracks, Rose Blossom and Christian, respectively on the 17th day after their release.

Steve Choi, published a video on his YouTube channel Ok K-pop analyzing the success of FIFTY FIFTY, H1-KEY, and Zior Park on his YouTube channel. He mentioned that all three K-pop artists found success with their music after several days of its release.

Choi showed a significant rise on music charts on the 17th day after the release and shared his take on what could be the possible reason behind this coincidence. He provided the credit for the sudden change to global streaming. Further sharing that Cupid started gaining 1 million daily streams following the 17th day. This is an amazing achievement for K-pop artists.

Steve Choi also attributed the rise to the English version of the song suggesting that global fans probably found it easier to approach. During the explanation, he also pointed out that on the 17th day, Cupid’s English version’s streaming surpassed the Korean version.

“[17th day] is the point where the song starts to spark. Beginning from then, it gradually increases and takes a big leap. Cupid is on a roll. It reached streams of over 3 million.” He analysis this in his video.

Similar to FIFTY FIFTY’s Cupid, H1-KEY’s Rose Blosson, and Zior Park’s Christian also saw a significant rise on charts on the 17th day following its release. This coincidence sparked conspiracy among K-pop fans who wondered about the importance of the 17th day.

Circle Chart director, Steve Choi took this opportunity to share a positive message. He stated in the video that producers and artists shouldn’t give up if their new release isn’t doing as well as expected in the first week. Further assuring that various factors can push a song to success later on as seen in the 17th-day phenomena of the three recent releases.

“It isn’t necessary to be upset for not receiving any response in the first week. We have to wait for at least a fortnight. One never knows what’s going to happen. This is the world we are living in.” Choi shared this in his video.
