The anime’s official website has released the preview stills for Spy x Family Season 2 Episode 3, and these photos tease the return of Yuri Briar.
Yuri is Yor’s younger brother. The 20-year-old works at the State Security Service, which he hides from his sister. But for Yor not to notice that he’s working at SSS, he pretends to be an ordinary civil servant and diplomat at the foreign ministry.
So, who is he in the Forger family’s life? Believe it or not, despite being Yor’s brother, Yuri is the secondary antagonist of the Spy x Family franchise.
- The company he works for is behind the capture of the spies in the country.
- In fact, he has proclaimed himself as the archenemy of the famous spy Twilight, not knowing it’s the undercover identity of Loid, who happens to be Yor’s husband.

- In one of the snaps, he can be seen listening to his headphones, probably using spy gear to monitor someone. Could it be Twilight?
- In another, he’s out and about with his senior and the unnamed SSS lieutenant, who’s only known for the scars on his face.
- The two seem to be in disguise, as they’re both wearing caps, seemingly hiding their real identities. By the looks of it, these two are up to something in Spy x Family Season 2 Episode 3.
- A solo image of Yuri also focuses on his fierce-looking eye.

Yuri’s Return to Spy x Family Season 2 Episode 3 Explained
Though the series is known for not revealing its new episode synopsis, there are several theories on why Yuri returns to Spy x Family Season 2 Episode 3. He probably has to fulfill a secret mission, considering he’s seen with his SSS senior in one of the previews.
The still with his headphones on may also be a giveaway of an investigation that he may be doing. However, it’s not known if he’s after Twilight or a different personality this time.
After his appearance in the first season’s seventh episode and closing sequence, it has remained a big question why Yuri has made his big return at this point in the story.

Spy x Family Season 2 Episode 3 may feature four storylines this time, with its titles Mission and Family/The Splendid Bondman/Childhood/Awakening Clock. By the looks of it, aside from Yuri’s return, the new episode will center on the Forger family.
The third episode will be released on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 JST in Japan. It can also be seen in select regions on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Bilibili, and Music Asia.
