Clothing brand, Lululemon fired two employees in Georgia as per their ‘no-tolerance policy’ after they chased and reported robbers to the officials. Jennifer Ferguson, the former assistant manager at the Atlanta Lululemon store, and employee Rachel Rogers were relieved from their posts after a video of them shouting and chasing robbers went viral.
The New York Post states the viral video released earlier this month is the cause of Ferguson and Rogers’ sudden dismissal. In the video, Ferguson and Rogers confront and chase the robbers before calling the police and reporting the robbery.
Why did Lululemon fire employees for reporting robbers?
The executive of the Lululemon store in a metro Atlanta area dismissed the two employees who reported robbers. The management hasn’t disclosed an exact reason for their dismissal apart from mentioning that they have a ‘no-tolerance policy.’

Their termination came weeks after the video of Jennifer Ferguson and Rachel Rogers capturing robbers’ actions and reporting them to the police went viral. In the video, netizens can see masked robbers breaking into the store and grabbing as many products as possible before dashing out of the door.
- Ferguson confronts and asks them to leave, ‘No, no, no, you can march back out.’ She also tried to persuade them by saying, ‘Seriously, Get Out.’ One of the robbers responds to her with ‘Shut Up’ and profanities.
- The employees record the robbers’ exit and escape while making no physical effort to prevent the robbers from stealing or leaving the store. Following this, Ferguson and Rogers call and report the crime to the Gwinnett Police Department.
- Thanks to the report, police tracked down, captured, and charged the thieves with felony robbery.
Lululemon confirms they fired the two employees reporting theft as per their ‘no-tolerance policy’
Following the robbery, the regional manager questioned the duo about their decision to report it and later terminated them for their actions. The management didn’t elaborate on their decision but stated that it was due to the store’s ‘no-tolerance policy.’
- The two employees explained the store’s policy regarding emergencies such as robbery. “We shouldn’t get in the way. You basically clear the path for whatever robbers are doing, as per the policy.” Jennifer Ferguson shared. “Once it is over, you scan a QR Code, and that’s that.”
- Furthermore, the company advised its employees to refrain from making notes or reporting the robbery to the officials as it might scare their customers. “We aren’t really supposed to talk about it,” Ferguson shared with Fox Business.
