Executive producer Marty Stratton and creative director Hugo Martin talked in an interview with Video Games Chronicle’s Andy Robinson about how the Doom series survived from generation to generation. One may think that there are many factors involved, but according to Marty Stratton, there is an easy explanation for all of this.

The answer to the main question (Why Doom Can Stay Relevant For So Long) was this: “I think most of the work on Doom and the reason why it has remained so relevant is that what we did with the Slayer and what he represents is so much fun, the good against evil, the eternal fight against demons … it’s a very universal feeling to be a tough superhero, and from a playful and technical point of view, it’s a lot of work to keep it relevant to today’s audience”.

Doom Eternal is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game is set to be released on November 22, 2019 for Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
