WWE: Is Chris Jericho returning to WWE?

Chris Jericho in WWE

2022 might just have been the craziest year for wrestling fans! There has been a lot of insane news for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) alone and it hasn’t been this entertaining for more than a decade now. From the infamous Vince McMahon stepping down as CEO, to the return of our favorite wrestlers, WWE never fails to entertain all of its fans, directly and indirectly. One of which is the possibility of a huge comeback involving one of the best wrestlers of our generation, Chris Jericho.

The great Y2J is one of the most electrifying wrestlers of all time and will go down as one of the greatest to ever step foot in the ring. A future hall of Famer, Chris Jericho once said he will “not” be returning to WWE for “a long time”. With a lot of rumors surrounding his possible return to WWE, is Chris Jericho really coming back? We’ll try to connect the dots and see if Y2J still has his charisma and charms.

Chris Jericho returning to WWE: Pop or Flop?

Chris Jericho is no doubt a future hall of Famer, no question about that. Plus, he has nothing left to prove. As a 7-time world champion and 10-time intercontinental champion, Jericho is already a wrestling legend. The only thing he hasn’t accomplished yet is taking the throne in the Royal Rumble, which he last tried back in 2018.

But, if Jericho decides to return to WWE, it would be one of the biggest comebacks in wrestling history and fans would love to see him go for another run and continue his feud with Kevin Owens. Heck, fans wouldn’t even think twice to pay just to see him in the WWE ring once again!

The journey from AEW to WWE: The return of the Y2J!

Currently, Chris Jericho is under contract with the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019. He signed for 3 years, which means he will be ending his stint with AEW soon. To add fuel to the rumbling fire, Jericho also teased in a tweet that some people in the “higher ups” want him alongside his former foe, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn in the same roster. However, he did not confirm if it was in the WWE or higher-upsthe AEW. Could this be what we have all been waiting for all these years?

In 2020, Chris seemed to have already thrown the odds of returning to WWE. He said that a return to the league is “not gonna happen”. Though he said he still has a love for the former CEO Vince McMahon and the whole organization, all these aren’t enough to confirm if he really is coming back to WWE. Besides, he still has a few more months left in his contract, maybe we will get to know the real score between Chris Jericho and WWE when his contract with AEW expires.

Can Chris Jericho still fight?

At 51 years old, Chris Jericho still looks fit and healthy. He has been in the business for almost more than 3 decades but he still looks like he has still a lot of gas left in his tank. He even had a scheduled AEW fight on September 4, 2022, against Daniel “The American Dragon” Danielson.

From John Cena to Ric Flair, to Chris Jericho, what more could the WWE offer?

As we’ve mentioned, 2022 might just be the best year for wrestling fanatics. Though some news surrounding the sport was borderline controversial, some were nostalgic and brought back a lot of memories.

One that fans had emotional was when the legendary John Cena returned to WWE RAW in lieu of his 20th-anniversary celebration with the promotion. Cena has been out of the wrestling business for quite some time now to pursue his acting career.
