How to find Slime chunks in Minecraft

Slime mob in Minecraft

Slime is important when playing Minecraft and can be usually found in chunks. Moreover, these mods also spawn quite randomly, making it hard for players to find them in their world. These mobs can be used to make various utilities like Lead, Magma Cream, Sticky Pistons, etc.

Now, since slimes are quite important in the later part of the game, players are sometimes bound to farm them in one spot. Thus, leading players to look for reliable ways to find the mobs in Minecraft. To make the process simpler, this guide will be stating how the slime spawn system works in the game.

Which chunks of map contains Slime in Minecraft?

If you are not well versed with the concept of chunks in Minecraft, it can be explained as a 16 by 16 block area. Out of 10 such chunks, only one chunk can contain Slime spawns. Moreover, these spawn points also have to be at a Y-elevation of 40. All of this information can be seen on the screen by pressing F3 to toggle debug menu.

Now, it is to be noted that Slime spawn chunks vary from one edition to the other in Minecraft. For Java Edition, the spawn chunk for Slime is completely random, while on Bedrock Edition, chunks remain the same regardless of world seed.

You can also make use of tools like Chunk Base, which marks Slime spawns in Minecraft regardless of editions. In case you don’t find any chunk on the map spot, just look around, you might find a few slimes nearby.

Other ways to find Slimes

Another way to get Slime is through swamp biomes. These biomes have high chances of Slimes spawning, making it a great spot for players for building their base in.
