Minecraft: Potions, How To Brew (Crafting Guide)

This game requires you to make and utilize potions on both yourself and your foes. Potions cover anything from healing and damage bonuses to invisibility and poison.

Proceed to the Nether
  • To access the Nether, you’ll need to construct a Nether Portal. If this is your first visit, proceed with caution. You’ll require sturdy armor, a bow, and a large number of arrows.
  • It’s even better if you have armor with a Fire Resistance enchantment.
Look for a Nether Fortress
  • Locate a Nether Fortress, which is a structure composed of Nether Bricks.
  • Look for the dark  Bricks in this nether structure.
Get yourself some Nether Wart.
  • Explore the fortress until you come to a Nether Wart growing in Soulsand at the bottom of a stairwell.
  • Gather all of the Nether Warts while you’re at it, and dig out the Soul Sand as well. Get extra Soul Sand if you see it on your route back to your Portal.
Blaze Rods.
  • Find and kill Blazes, as well as at least one Blaze Rod.
  • It’s preferable to use arrows from afar to take them out.
  • Blazes may be found almost anywhere in a Nether Fortress, but sometimes you’ll come across a Blaze Spawner. Avoid getting too close to these.
  • Now return to your Portal and prepare to brew.

Brewery

Nether Wart Farm Place the Soulsand you brought back on top of it and plant some Nether Wart. This is the location of your Nether Wart Farm. Almost every beneficial potion contains a nether wart as a component.
Make a Brewery Stand
  • Make use of your Blaze Rod as well as some Cobblestone.
  • Set up your brewing station. You’ll also need a chest, a crafting table, and a well nearby.
  • Water supply, brewing station, and storage are all included.
  • To begin brewing, you’ll need some glass, Nether Wart, and potion components (see the recipes for more information).

Potions

Get Water Bottles
  • By right-clicking on your well, you can fill three bottles with water (the water bottles do not stack; they will appear elsewhere in your inventory, so make sure you have some empty spots first).
Fill the Brewing Stand
  • The brewing interface will open when you right-click on your Brewing Stand.
  • Fill the bottom three places with water bottles.
Start with the first ingredient.
  • The initial ingredient will nearly always be Nether Wart, which you should place in the top slot, along with some Blaze Powder to power the brewing process. Once you’ve added both of these, the brewing process will begin.
  • Your water bottles will have been transformed into potions after the brewing is finished (it takes 20 seconds). Awkward Potion is the name of this potion, and it is useless on its own. A second element is required.
Combine the second ingredient
  • It’s time to add another component to the mix. The type of potion you make will be determined by this ingredient. Glistening Melon will give you a Potion of Health; Sugar will give you a Potion of Swiftness; Blaze Powder will give you a Potion of Strength, and you can find more recipes here.
  • When you’re done with this stage, you’ll have three potions to use.
