Minecraft: Windows 11 Black Screen, How To Fix

Minecraft

Minecraft is one the most popular games of 2021. It is the best-selling video game of all time. However, you guys might have been facing a Black Screen glitch. Some players complain that the screen goes black the moment they launch the game or when they tab out of the game and they are not able to access it. In this article, we are going to discuss all the possible ways to resolve the issue.

Causes

There can be a lot of reasons behind this glitch.  It can be caused by an antivirus that you may have configured on your system. Another reason that can be because of the issue might be due to incompatibility issues. You can run the game in Windowed mode or Full Screen depending on the configuration of your game.

Antivirus and Firewall

The first and first most thing is to check and update the antivirus of the system. Because your antivirus may think that your game is a virus and then block it from running on your computer. If you are the Windows Firewall, then you can disable it temporarily and see if that helps. And if it does, then try allowing your game through the Firewall.

Run Minecraft as an administrator

Sometimes running the Minecraft game without having admin access on your Windows computer may cause multiple issues with the UAC (User Account Control). So, Make sure to give it admin access to run the program properly. Kindly follow the below steps:

  • Firstly click on the Minecraft shortcut and go to properties.
  • Click on the Compatibility
  • Click on the Run this program as an administrator.
  • Now run the game to check for the issue.

Full-screen optimization

Another that can be done is Full-Screen Optimization. It is there to make sure that your computer is using a big chunk of its resources to run that app or game. However, sometimes, it can backfire by causing frame drops, black screen issues, and crashes. so, there’s a need to check whether the Minecraft app has this feature disabled or enabled. Kindly follow the given steps to do the same:

  • Click on the Minecraft shortcut and select
  • Then go to the Compatibility
  • Check whether “Disable full-screen optimizations” is ticked or unticked. If it’s enabled then disable it and vice-versa.

Update graphics

If you don’t have your updated graphics driver then it might cause an issue. So it becomes essential to update your graphics driver on a frequent basis.

Compatibility Mode

Sometimes the game files may not run properly in the latest version of Windows OS. Then you should try running the game in a previous version of Windows OS which is compatible enough.  Kindly follow the below-given steps:

  • Firstly, click on the Minecraft shortcut file and go to Properties.
  • Then click on the Compatibility tab and tick the “Run this program in compatibility mode for” checkbox to enable it.
  • Finally, click on Apply and then OK to save changes.

 Disable the SLI mode

  • The SLI mode makes the system slow. So By disabling the SLI Mode, you’ll be able to enhance the system performance on your Windows computer.
  • However, it can occur multiple bugs and when you use more than one graphics card in the SLI mode, it may cause Minecraft’s black screen issue. So, disabling the SLI mode is necessary if you’re using it.

 Ctrl+Alt+Del Shortcut

  • If the Minecraft black screen issue continues to bother you then make sure to try using a shortcut key trick to get rid of it. Once the black screen issue appears, just press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete key shortcut. It will resolve your issue.
