New K-pop groups this 2023 Ranked

Another year means another round of newly-debuted groups in the K-pop industry. With the recent craze of fourth-generation songs on social media platforms, we know you want more. With that, more K-pop groups gear to bring fire this 2023 like BABYMONSTER and ZEROBASEONE! And if you wish to know more K-pop groups you can follow and stan this 2023, and then here’s a ranked list of artists you would probably love to take a listen to.

NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, and FIFTY FIFTY are among the groups that took social media by storm. The current Last Song Syndrome of people on TikTok is still FIFTY FIFTY’s latest release, Cupid. While these groups continuously drop bop after bop, let’s welcome another batch of groups in the industry!

New K-pop groups who debuted in 2023

If you’re simply searching for groups to try listening to this year, then you may want to choose from this list. Do take note that some groups that may be mentioned here are set to debut sometime this year. Of course, feel free to drop those new K-pop groups on your stan list, we would love to support them too!

  • Most of the debuted 2023 K-pop groups this year do not belong to any of the Big 4 agencies (YG Entertainment, SM, JYP, and HYBE). They may not have a lot of noise unlike those of the Big 4 debut, but surely you’re in for some good music. Ready your music streaming application, and listen to these new K-pop groups in 2023!

5) MAVE: (메이브)

They may remind you of your SM Entertainment’s aespa, as they are a virtual girl group! However, instead of having AEs, the group consists of the virtual members themselves. MAVE: consists of four members under Metaverse Entertainment.

The girl group just debuted early this year, on January 25, 2023, with the album, “PANDORA’S BOX.” If you’re curious about their group name, it came from the phrase “MAKE NEW WAVE.” MAVE: aims to create a new wave in the K-pop industry, especially with its new extraordinary way of promoting their music.

We’re not gonna lie, at first, we were hesitant about this group, but they have potential. Listen to their track PANDORA on the music streaming sites, and let us know your thoughts. “I’m coming in hard / I, I’m one of a kind,” they’re not lying when they said that. WONDERLAND (IDYPIA) is a personal favorite, you can hear some experimental sound, and they pulled it off great. Here’s a brief introduction of the members too!

    • MARTY: (마티): Dancer and Rapper

4) xikers (싸이커스)

Is anyone a fan of groups with many members? Consider yourself lucky as KQ Entertainment debuted the 10-member boy group named xikers. If you wish to listen to some EDM to pop rock-like tunes, then might as well add xikers to your playlist.

They released a pre-debut song last September 2022 with the track “Geek.” xikers officially debuted last March 30, 2023. They brought another new vibe to the K-pop industry, and we advise you to listen to them when you feel like dancing.

While we listen to their first mini-album, “HOUSE OF TRICKY: Doorbell Ringing,” there is a lot of rapping involved. And we won’t deny that this boy group has a lot of potential to be one of the best rapping groups in their generation.  Of course, if you got curious about them, here are the members’ positions!

3) HORI7ON (호라이즌)

Coming from the Philippines, HORI7ON sets to debut this year under MLD Entertainment. The group recently arrived in South Korea to train and prepare for their upcoming June 2023 debut. HORI7ON came from a joint survival show of ABS-CBN, MLD Entertainment, and KAMP Korea to create ‘Dream Maker’.

The group already released their pre-debut single entitled DASH right after Dream Maker ended. They also promoted HORI7ON across the Philippines before they flew for South Korea recently. As soon as they landed in Korea, few got a glimpse of the killer visuals of the group, specifically HORI7ON Kyler.

Now that they’re preparing to release more music in South Korea, we hope they can receive much support from their fans, the ANCHORs. With more training, they could be a new wave in the K-pop industry, just like the Japanese girl group, XG did as they promoted in South Korea too. So for now, let’s meet the members of HORI7ON, let’s find out their official positions soon!

2) BABYMONSTER (베이비몬스터)

YG Entertainment sets to debut a new girl group under their agency, and BABYMONSTER is making a lot of noise. The final line-up of the girl group has yet to be confirmed, however, there are seven potential members of the group. Fans also await BABYMONSTER’s upcoming debut, but we hope that it’s coming soon!

On their official YouTube, the members have been applauded and praised by the netizens for BABYMONSTER’s amazing vocals. Each member showcased their vocal prowess through a solo cover video. The young line-up gained fans as YG never fails to debut one of the promising K-pop groups in the industry, and hopefully, this is 2023’s BABYMONSTER’s time.

What do we mean by young? Their youngest member is a 2009 liner and the oldest is a 2002 liner. The generation today has been debuting a lot of youngsters, so we hope that they can be taken care of physically, mentally, and in other aspects. Anyway, fans do hope that the seven of them debut on BABYMONSTER, so meet the potential members here!

1) ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원)

Of course, coming from another survival show group, let’s all welcome to this ranked list of K-pop groups this 2023, ZEROBASEONE! This nine-member project boy group came from Mnet’s BOYS PLANET. The planned debut for ZEROBASEONE happens on July 2023, so let’s watch out!

The boy group will be managed by WAKE ONE Entertainment. This agency also manages Kep1er, the project girl group that came from Girls Planet 999. Moreover, ZEROBASEONE recently unveiled their fandom name, the ZEROSE. The group is in contract for two and a half years, so let’s hope they can release a lot of songs as soon as they debut!
