Pokemon Go celebrates Diwali, the Indian festival, with its own event, the Festival of Lights. It has its own raids, eggs, and special encounters. Taking the celebrations one step further, Niantic has brought fireworks to the event so that players can light up the sky in the world of Pokemon Go as well.

There is a special event on the 7th of November for Indians, where from 4 PM to 7 PM local time, players in India will encounter Dedenne and Blitzle more often in the wild and will be able to get 2x Catch Candy.

Fireworks within the game are said to be a limited feature. Starting from the 5th of November, players will just have to look up into the sky in the game, and they will see fireworks going off in the sky. Niantic has stated that this feature will last for only the first few days of the Festival of Lights event, but we do not know exactly which days they will be. So, get out there and enjoy the fireworks and see them light up the sky in the spirit of Diwali.

The Festival of Lights event features the Pokemon Dedenne, which will be making its debut in Pokemon Go, while Electric- and Fairy-type Pokemon will be appearing more often to brighten your screens. Following the Festival of Lights event, which lasts from the 5th to the 14th of November, a new event “With Light Comes Shadow” is set to start from the 9th of November.

Be sure to check out the event, and grab the opportunity to encounter Electric- and Fairy-type Pokemon, along with the other bonuses!
