Pokemon Go: Poffins, How To Get and Use

The Buddy adventure system in Pokemon Go allows players to spend time with their Pokemon, going on walks with them, while also completing daily goals. In a recent addition to the Buddy adventure system, an item called Poffins has been introduced in Pokemon Go, which can be used to feed Pokemon. While until recently only berries could be used to feed Buddy Pokemon, players will now be able to feed Pokemon Poffins. Poffins will also boost all stats of Pokemon.

Niantic describes Poffins as a “special snack that fills your buddy’s hunger meter automatically and boosts their Mood to Excited.” Poffins will automatically provide players with the maximum daily number of Affection hearts, which is normally present under the “give your buddy a treat”. Buddy Pokemon will stay on the Map and be in the Excited mood for longer periods of time, while also staying full.

Poffins can be bought at the Shop using Pokecoins. Players will have to press the Pokeball at the bottom of the world screen and then select the Shop. Under the Items menu in the Shop, Poffins can be bought for 100 Pokecoins each. When players buy Poffins, they will be stored in the Inventory.

Players will have to select their Buddy Pokemon at the bottom left corner of the screen. This will open the Buddy Pokemon profile, with the progress of the day’s Buddy Adventure system at the bottom. Players will have to tap the Play option beneath their Buddy Pokemon, and then find a large flat area for the Buddy to appear. Colored Pokemon footprints will appear on the screen, indicating that the Buddy has arrived. When players tap on the footprints, Buddy Pokemon will appear.

Below the Pokemon, players will have to select the Berry icon and then select the Poffin from the menu. This will allow players to feed their Buddy with Poffins, giving them an overall boost and making them stay longer.
