Pokemon Legends: Arceus: Top 5 Water Pokemon, Where To Find

Water Pokemon boasts some of the best stats in the game. Having a strong one can allow you to breeze through some of your Hisuian adventures. When it comes to maximizing your team’s capability, you want Pokemon with the highest potential. With powerful water moves and decent distribution of stats, here are the five best water Pokemon you can catch in-game:

Empoleon

Empoleon works best as a special attacker to maximize powerful moves like Wave Crash. It’s also a versatile Pokemon to bring around because it’s bulkier than most water Pokemon.

Location

You’ll find Empoleon and its unevolved forms in the Cobalt Coastlands. If you’re looking for a Piplup or Prinplup, scour the Spring Path. Alternatively, you can look for the Alpha Empoleon hanging around Islespy Shore.

Walrein

Another option because of its abilities, Walrein also acts best with a Special Attack build like Empoleon. It can recover HP from hail while reducing damage from Fire and Ice moves thanks to its Thick Fat.

Location

You can find Walrein hanging out at the Cobalt Coastlands, specifically at Islespy Shore and Gingko Landing. Its base form Spheal and first evolution Sealeo also hang out at Gingko Landing.

Gyarados

Gyarados is one of the strongest non-legendary Pokemon in the game. It has one of the highest attacks, making Adamant its best nature. It’s also immune to ground attacks because it is a flying type.

Location

You’ll find Gyarados in three areas:

  • Coronet Highlands: Primeval Grotto
  • Cobalt Coastlands: Sand’s Reach
  • Obsidian Fieldlands: Lake Verity and Obsidian Falls

Its base form Magikarp also hangs out at its spots in the Obsidian Fieldlands. You can also catch one at Fabled Spring in Coronet Highlands and level it to 20 to evolve it.

Manaphy

The mythical Pokemon Manaphy has one of the highest combined stats in the game. It cures itself of any status conditions when there is rain at the end of each turn. Manaphy works best as a special attacker, thanks to moves like Hydro Pump, Water Pulse, and Moonblast.

Location

You can only find Manaphy if you take on the Fifth Star Rank request, The Seas Legend. During this request, you’ll see multiple Phione and a Manaphy. We recommend that you save your game before trying to catch it.

Palkia

The Legendary Pokemon Palkia is the strongest among all Water-types and is a dragon to boot. You’ll eventually encounter it during the main story and get a chance to turn it into its Origin Forme with the item Lustrous Globe.

Location

Play through the game, and you’ll eventually encounter Palkia. After the main story, you can get the Lustrous Globe at the Pearl Settlement. You’ll have to beat Irida there to get it.
