This guide will tell you all about how to increase your Heart and Stamina in Tears of the Kingdom. Stay with us!

How to increase Heart and Stamina in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Have you tried climbing a mountain in Tears of the Kingdom, only for your Stamina Wheel to run out? Ever encountered a group of Bokoblins, but they were too much for Link’s heart to handle? If you have, then maybe it’s time for you to consider increasing Link’s number of Hearts and the length of his Stamina Wheel.

If you’re only starting the game, it’s normal for Link to get exhausted quickly. You’ll also have to be on your guard at all times to preserve the low amount of hearts he has. The main way to increase your Heart and Stamina Wheel in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is by collecting a certain amount of Lights of Blessings.

  • In order for you to collect a Light of Blessing, you must clear Shrines in Tears of the Kingdom. Like in Breath of the Wild, each Shrine awards you a Light of Blessing that you can exchange at an Goddess Statue.
  • The number of Lights of Blessings needed in order to increase either your Heart or Stamina in Tears of the Kingdom is 4.

  • Once you have 4 Lights of Blessings, make your way to a Goddess Statue and interact with it.
    • The first time you offer the 4 Lights of Blessings, it will automatically give you an additional Heart.
  • As for your next time offering the Lights of Blessing to the Goddess Statue, you can choose whether you want to upgrade your Heart or Stamina.
  • Depending on your choice, the Goddess Statue will give you a Health or Stamina Container. Upon picking the item up, your chosen stat will automatically increase.

Completing main story quests also gives upgrades

Another way to increase your Heart and Stamina in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is by progressing through the game’s main story. After completing a specific main quest, Link will receive a Heart Container. Some of the quests that award you a Heart Container are the following:

  • Yunobo of Goron City automatically starts during Regional Phenomena. Once you defeat Marbled Gohma, it drops a Heart Container.
  • Tulin of Rito Village starts after completing Regional Phenomena. After defeating Colgera, return to Rito Village and collect the Heart Container.

Other ways to increase Heart and Stamina in Tears of the Kingdom

If you find yourself in dire need of increasing your Heart and Stamina but don’t want to go through all the trouble of clearing Shrines or defeating story bosses, there is another way for you to do so. The only catch is you will have to shell out a good amount of Rupees.

To do this, go to any of the Stables in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Talk to the employee behind the counter and ask for lodging. Choose the most expensive bed that goes for 50 Rupees. Once Link is fully rested, he will have 3 Golden Hearts and an extra Golden Stamina bar.

Golden Hearts and Stamina Bars are only temporary. Once Link takes damage or uses up the Stamina in the Golden Bar, they will disappear. If you want to get them back, then you’ll have to go to the Stables and sleep in the expensive bed again. On the other hand, you can also craft consumables that will give you these buffs.
