When it comes to survival games, Valheim is the latest and probably one of the most popular games out there. As of now, it’s available as early access on Windows and Linux on Steam and since it’s here, it’s time for us to guide you on how to adjust your input options and controls.
Although it’s only out on PC as yet, it does come with native controller support and may connect to some of the controllers you use. Unfortunately, it is just partial support and there might be limitations with the controllers, and it might not be able to detect some controllers.
How to Connect
Whether using a controller for this game is good or not totally depends on you but if you do choose to use it, here’s how you do it.
- If you have a PlayStation or Xbox Controller, simply plug it into the game and it would be recognized.
- If you are using some other controller and it does not connect:
- Head to the Options menu
- Click on the Controls Tab
- Turn “Gamepad Enabled” on
If you are still unsuccessful in connecting, you’ll need to head to Steam and make sure it recognizes your controller. If not, you may have to install some drivers. For making Steam responsive to your controller:
- Go to Steam and click on Steam on the upper left
- Click on Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings
- Select the controller that you want to use
That’s it you are all set to use your controller now and should not face many issues. But as mentioned above, it has partial support for controllers and that might create a few problems for users who do not have Play Station or Xbox controllers.
