With more details emerging about the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Pro, it looks like it is indeed what people expect. The specifications now match and even exceed the best the iPhone 14 offers. Not only that, but the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a curved display and will be at a much lower price point during its release in December. Let’s look closely at its specifications to see its differences:

Camera and Display Size

The Xiaomi 13 Pro has today’s standard three rear cameras, though the noticeable upgrade is that they all have a 50 MP resolution. The iPhone is only at 48 MP, with the two other cameras at 12 MP. Xiaomi’s front view camera is also stronger at 32 MP, while the iPhone only keeps it at 12. While the iPhone has always been known for its crisp shots and videos, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is superior.

It also boasts a display at 6.73 compared to 6.1, having a margin difference compared to the iPhone. Despite being larger in size and dimensions, it weighs about the same. Screen size may be about preference, though larger screens have gotten more preferenced in recent years.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, while the iPhone has an A16 Bionic. Comparing the two reveals a slight difference, with the iPhone being the more powerful. It performs better in games and can handle more tasks at once. The A16 Bionic is also more efficient when preserving battery life.

However, you may note that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has two more cores. A16 edges out the win because it has a higher clock speed at 3460, compared to the Snapdragon’s 3000.

With screen resolution, the Xiaomi 13 Pro dominates the iPhone 14, having a 1440 x 3200-pixel display. In comparison, the iPhone only has a 2556 x 1179 pixel display, meaning the graphics difference is noticeable. Add a 512 PPI pixel density of the Xiaomi compared to the 460, and a higher aspect ratio combine towards a better screen.

You’ll likely enjoy videos and games more when using the Xiaomi 13 pro in terms of visuals. It is an AMOLED display, meaning it isn’t as clear under direct sunlight. However, AMOLED displays tend to have better contrast than the Retina display used by the iPhone 14.

Price and Verdict

The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s expected price is at $899-$1299, depending on the storage options you choose for the device. In comparison, an iPhone 14 costs $999 to $1499. The Xiaomi 13 Pro has a bit of an advantage with price but not by much.

On paper, it looks like the Xiaomi edges out over the iPhone 14 Pro thanks to its superior display and camera. While the iPhone’s processor allows it to perform better in games, it’s a difference that might not matter in the end. What matters is that you’ll likely appreciate the display of the Xiaomi more because of higher resolutions. It even comes at a slightly lower price than the iPhone.
