Best PS5 games so far (October 2022) - Cover Picture

The PS5 has been out for nearly two years now but still, it doesn’t have that many exclusives as Sony is still keeping up with support for the PS4. If you are one of the lucky ones who already have their hands on the in-demand console, you may be wondering which games are worth checking out. In this list, we’ll be giving you the best PS5 games so far. The list will have games coming from different genres to help you find some of the best PS5 games to play this October.

Of course, not everything on this list will be a PS5 exclusive but thanks to the current-gen console’s backwards compatibility, you can play PS4 titles with an improved overall experience. Expect gorgeous graphics as well as an enjoyable time with the DualSense controller as it’s definitely a step up from the DualShock variant used in previous PlayStation consoles. Without further ado, here are games you should definitely play on the PS5!

Best PS5 games to play this October 2022

Before the year ends, there are plenty of PS5 releases we’re definitely looking forward to. Some of these games are God of War: Ragnarok and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. So while waiting, we’ve rounded up some of the best games we think you should check out. These games maximize the potential of your PS5 with insanely gorgeous graphics and improved performance.

In Deathloop, you’re an assassin who has been given the job to eliminate eight targets on the island of Blackreef. If you successfully eliminate your targets before the clock strikes midnight, you’ll finally be out of the time loop.

This game is perfect for players who are looking for some humor in an action-packed game that will get their brain juices flowing.

  • Horizon Forbidden West

Quite possibly one of the most popular PlayStation exclusives, you take on the role of Aloy again. But this time, the map of Horizon is larger and filled with plenty of wonders that will definitely keep you hooked. It’s such a great game to try on the PS5 as we’re sure you’ll be blown away by how gorgeous the Forbidden West looks.

Anyone who owns a PS5 should definitely have this game on their must-play list as it is an open-world experience like no other.

  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Unlike most of the titles on this list, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a PS5 exclusive. Any gamer can enjoy Rift Apart without worrying about getting themselves up to speed on the series’ story. The game also maximizes the capabilities of the PS5 system with breathtaking visuals and environments.

You’ll also get to enjoy some of the new features introduced with the DualSense controller with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

  • Astro’s Playroom

If you’re a fan of platformer games, you should check out the copy of Astro’s Playroom already installed on your system. This is a free game included with every unit of the PS5 and although free games can sometimes be a bit of a letdown, Astro’s Playroom gives us a delightful experience.

The main purpose of Astro’s Playroom is to show you how the DualSense controller works but nonetheless, it’s still a great game to play.

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The sequel to Marvel‘s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games, you get to play as Miles Morales this time around. If you like swinging through the streets of New York while taking on some familiar villains in the Spider-Man universe, this game is definitely for you.

Although the playtime on Miles Morales could be longer, you won’t regret purchasing this game for your PS5.

  • Resident Evil Village

Dubbed one of the best games in the Resident Evil series, you take on the role of Ethan Winters as he sets out to rescue his daughter. You’ll face off against a variety of werewolves, vampires, and even fish mutants. The game adds more emphasis to the combat system while still keeping up with the survival system the Resident Evil franchise is known for.

Resident Evil Village is also one of the games you should play as you prepare for Halloween. Check out our list here!

  • Demon’s Souls

Demon’s Souls for the PS5 launched alongside the console back in November 2020 and although it was originally released for the PS3, this was a remake. We tend to steer clear of remakes since usually, they don’t bring anything new to the table. However, Demon’s Souls for the PS5 had a lot of changes including improved gameplay.

The Dark Souls trilogy is known for putting players to the test. If you’re up for a challenge, definitely try your hand at Demon’s Souls on the PS5.

  • GTA 5

What’s a list of the best games to play on the PS5 if we wouldn’t be including GTA 5? Originally released in 2013, Rockstar released an upgraded version for the PS5 this year. It’s also rumored that GTA 6 is coming soon so if you want to save your money, you can always opt for GTA Online.

At the moment, GTA Online is free on the PS Store if you don’t want to buy the base game. The online mode is also enjoyable as you get to participate in a ton of activities with other players.
