Lucknow Super Giants captain, KL Rahul became the fifth Indian cricketer to score fifty half-centuries in T20 cricket. He scored a brilliant fifty in IPL 2022 encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. KL Rahul became a part of the elite Indian list that included Virat Kohli, Shikhara Dhawan, Suresh Raina, and Rohit Sharma.
MOST T20 FIFTIES
- Virat Kohli: 328 matches, 76 fifties
- Rohit Sharma: 372 matches, 69 fifties
- Shikhar Dhawan: 305 matches, 63 fifties
- Suresh Raina: 336 matches, 53 fifties
- KL Rahul: 175 matches, 50 fifties
Moreover, this was Rahul’s 28th fifty in the IPL. In addition to this, the India opener is now in the 9th spot in the list of batters with the most IPL fifties, a list headed by David Warner who has 49 fifties.
KL Rahul has become an absolute asset for the Indian cricket team. He can play all formats and bat at any position as we have seen him in the world cup 2019.
In IPL, Rahul has become the most consistent batsman. Despite not winning a title with Punjab Kings, he scored 550+ runs in each season from 2018 to 2021. He has scored 3313 runs in just 94 matches at an average of 46.66.
Currently, KL Rahul is captain of Lucknow Super Giants. As we all know that Rahul chose not to be retained by Punjab Kings ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The Right-handed batsmen were drafted in by LSG for Rs 16 crores. However, he didn’t get a good start in the first match against Gujarat Titans, as he bowled on the very first of the inning. But no one can control him for a longer period, he showed his class in the next two matches and proved why he is called as Klassy Rahul.
