Episode 5 of Demon Slayer S3 had some great moments to savor as Ufotable brought another great piece of animation for the fans. However, one striking feature was Tanjiro’s red sword which overpowered all the demons.
Nezuko has been one of the most significant characters in the series as her abilities are yet again showcased in Demon Slayer S3. The studio has been putting out one masterpiece after another as the Swordsmith Village arc is edging toward the final fight. However, Episode 5 brought out an interesting feature in Nezuko’s ability. Her Blood Demon Art turned Tanjiro’s sword red, enabling him to slay demons like a breeze. Fans wonder what is the reason behind such an increase in power. Hence, this article is your answer as it explains everything regarding Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art.
Exploring Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art in Demon Slayer S3

Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art, or Pyrokinsesis is one of the most unique abilities in Demon Slayer. Not only it is extremely dangerous for all demons, it can heal poison effects in humans as it is completely harmless to them. Her ability is an example of great writing as the author has perfectly juxtaposed her with the other demons.
However, she inherits her fire ability from her bloodline, as the Hinokami Kagura has been running through the ages. The reason why it is extremely dangerous for the demons is its lineage to Sun Breathing, the first breathing style ever created. Demons are immensely vulnerable to this sun, therefore, fire or the sun is one of the best weapons to use against them. This is why her Sun Breathing-influenced art burns the demons to a crisp and renders their regeneration ability useless.
Tanjiro’s red sword in Demon Slayer S3
Nezuko’s unusual ability can burn her blood and turn it into an explosive flame with her pyrokinesis ability. This is why Tanjiro’s sword turned red due to her pink explosive flame that can rend through demons quite easily.

Tanjiro understood the importance of this flame which enabled him to activate and align his own Sun Breathing with Nezuko’s flames unconsciously. He tried to use the same breathing pattern that he used to defeat Gyutaro and achieved the Breath of the Sun: Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance. This is how he overpowered all the clones of Hantengu, as Sekido and Karaku saw Yoriichi in him, the man who brought Muzan to the edge.
This was everything you had to know about Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art and Tanjiro’s red sword in Demon Slayer S3.
