Episode 3 of the Demon Slayer S3 is finally released, as fans still cannot process the worsening situation. In just one episode, this anime managed to make the environment as dire as possible.
One of the prime reasons for such a situation is Hantengu, the Upper Moon Four demon. Instead of dying upon getting beheaded, he further multiplies into clones from the severed parts. However, all of his clones have varying abilities and personalities. There is a lot to wrap your head around, so keep reading, as this article explains everything about Hantengu, the Upper Moon Four.

Exploring Hantengu’s ability in Demon Slayer S3
Hantengu’s initial Blood Demon Art enables him to form four clones. These clones have varying personalities and abilities, as they are the manifestation of his emotions. Although these may be Hnatengu’s clones, each of them holds an Upper-Rank demon’s strength. His four clones are called Sekido, Karaku, Urogi, and Aizetsu in Demon Slayer S3.

Each of his four clones has its own abilities and Blood Demon Arts in Demon Slayer S3:
- Sekido: Electrokinesis, creating wide areas of lightning from his staff. It was shown to almost kill Tanjiro with just one hit.
- Karaku: Aerokinesis, creating immensely powerful gusts of wind from his fan. Muichiro was blown away far into the forest due to this attack.
- Urogi: Sonic Scream, creating powerful strong sound waves from his screams. This was shown to blow Tanjiro’s eardrums off and almost made him lose consciousness. He can also fly at high speeds.
- Aizetsu: He can manipulate his spear to travel great distances as a powerful thrusting attack.

Zohakuten- The final form in Demon Slayer S3
The ultimate measure of Hantengu is fusing all his four clones into one body called, Zohakuten. It is the most powerful version of Hantengu as he can use all the abilities of the four demons. However, his prime Blood Demon Art is wood manipulation. He can manipulate all the flora around him and make immensely powerful dragon heads by striking his drums.

Zohakuten was so powerful that Tanjiro almost lost consciousness just by looking at him. His sonic wave knocked Mitsuri, the Love Hashira, pretty easily. Even the combined effort of Tanjiro, Mitsuri, Genya, and Nezuko could not defeat him as he only died because of the sunlight. If not for that, he would have possibly killed all of the slayers.
Conclusion
After Zohakuten’s death, Hantengu tries to escape with his final clone, Urami. It was the final clone and an embodiment of Hantengu’s resentment. However, the demon slayers caught up to him and killed the main body. This ended their quest of defeating the Upper Moon Four, Hantengu completely.
This was everything you had to know about Hantengu’s cloning ability.
