The internet was abuzz with excitement over the recent plot developments in NieR: Automata Ver1.1a, which promised an original anime storyline and provided a glimpse into the characters’ lives. Yet amidst a pandemic to which the world already seems to have adapted into, Nier Automata Anime is Delayed once again.
As of the time of reporting, there is no information about when the series will resume. Previously, the show had gone on hiatus after episode three, and episode four was broadcast and streamed in Japan on February 18.
Covid 19 causes Nier Automata Anime Delay?
Once again, COVID-19 has impacted the schedule of the newly-formed production house, delaying the release of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a episode 9 and beyond.
- Several other anime productions from renowned studios were also delayed due to the outbreak, such as Boruto: Naruto’s Next Generation, The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Bofuri Season 2, Ayakashi Triangle, and Uncle From Another World.
Thankfully, some of these series have resumed production, while others remain tentatively on hiatus. It is also worth noting that the One Piece hiatus is due to other reasons altogether.
After which episode did the Anime Hiatus ensue?
- After the eighth episode of the NieR: Automata Ver1.1a TV anime aired, the official Twitter account declared that the show would go on hiatus starting with episode nine due to the production schedule being affected by the spread of COVID-19 infections.
At this point, it feels just to bring to your frantic attention that Nier Automata Anime has been exceptionally well received. The game’s story director has formerly mentioned that the Anime is to follow its own original ending.
Fans of Square Enix’s Nier: Automata were also particularly thrilled by A2’s impressive debut in the latest episode of the series, being reflective of her innate significance to the story.
Now that A2 has appeared, fans eagerly anticipate the next few episodes to see how the meeting between the YoRHa androids will unfold.
What did the official studio have to say about Nier Automata Anime’s Delay?
The anime production committee is disappointed by the virus’s second attack on the production schedule. The NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime committee has released an official statement on their website and the anime’s Twitter handle.
“We appreciate your ongoing support for the TV anime “NieR: Automata Ver1.1a.” However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the video production schedule, we have decided to delay the broadcast and distribution of episodes 9 and beyond. We will announce the updated broadcast and distribution schedule for these episodes on the official anime website and Twitter account as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.”
When can the Nier Automata Anime hiatus possibly end?
It’s difficult to say. But previously it was delayed for more than just two weeks. Given the covid situation, we expect a potential late April or even early may release for the latest Nier Episode. Well, hang tight fellas. We might just make it through without much delay.
What is the Nier: Automata Ver 1.1a all about?
- In the year 5012, Earth was suddenly invaded from the skies by extraterrestrial beings known as the Aliens, along with their creations – the Machine Lifeforms. This led humanity to the brink of extinction, with only a small number of survivors taking refuge on the moon. They organized a counterattack, employing android soldiers to retake Earth.
- However, the war reached a stalemate as the Machine Lifeforms continued to proliferate without end. In response, humanity developed a new unit of android soldiers known as YoRHa, which served as the ultimate weapon.
As part of their mission, 2B is newly dispatched to Earth, where she joins 9S, an analyst stationed there. While on this mission, they encounter a plethora of mysterious phenomena. This is the story of these seemingly lifeless androids and their unrelenting battle for the sake of humanity.
