The Gridman Universe, a collaboration between Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions, is preparing for its overseas release later this year. It is also the spiritual SSSS.Gridman Anime Sequel. To generate excitement, a new trailer and poster have been released to showcase what fans can expect from this giant crossover event.
What is the New Gridman Universe project?
Following the conclusion of both “SSSS.Gridman” and “SSSS.Dynanzenon,” it was revealed that fans would be treated to a special new project that would bring all the characters from both franchises together. This project is a movie that promises a massive new threat that both casts must confront.
Coming from the same author who gave Japan the redeemed Ultraman franchise, SSSS Gridman has been an appeasing anime series overall.
What is SSSS.Gridman?
- The anime series SSSS.Gridman is a reinterpretation of the 1993-1994 Japanese tokusatsu show, Denkou Choujin Gridman.
- This project is the result of a joint effort by Tsuburaya Productions, the production house responsible for Gridman and the Ultra Series, and Trigger.
The series first aired on television for 12 episodes from October to December 2018. The sequel SSSS.Dynazenon was later broadcasted from April to June in 2021.
When will the Gridman Universe possibly be released?
- The plot for this giant crossover event has yet to be disclosed, but it won’t be long before fans abroad will be able to witness it in action. The Gridman Universe is now scheduled for a Japanese release on March 24th.
- Unfortunately, there has not been any official announcement about international plans for the Gridman Universe at this time. However, you can catch up on both “SSSS.Gridman” and “SSSS.Dynazenon” by streaming them on Crunchyroll.
Will the Cast of SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon return in this Gridman Universe project?
The Gridman Universe will feature a returning cast and crew from the two TV series. With Akira Amemiya returning as the director for Studio Trigger, Keiichi Hasegawa coming back to write the script. Masaru Sakamoto returned for the character designs, and Shiro Sagisu once again serving as the composer.

Yuya Hirose as Yuta Hibiki,
Yume Miyamoto as Rikka Takarada,
Soma Saito as Sho Utsumi,
Ryousuke Takahashi as Caliber,
Katsuyuki Konishi as Max,
Aoi Yuki as Borr,
Masaya Matsukaze as Vit,
and Mayumi Shintani as Rikka’s mother.
For “SSSS.Dynazenon,” the following voice actors will return:
- Junya Enoki as Yomogi Asanaka,
Shion Wakayama as Yume Minami,
Yuichiro Umehara as Koyomi Yamanaka,
Chika Anzai as Chise Asukagawa,
Kenichi Suzumura as Knight,
Karin Takahashi as The 2nd,

and Akari Kito as Hassu.
