Despite this shocking revelation, Tohru promises to keep their secret and is allowed to keep living with the Sohmas. Over time, Tohru becomes a positive influence on the Sohmas and sets out to break the curse.

Along the way, she meets the vengeful zodiac spirits and the family’s leader, Akito, who holds the power to keep the family together but also chains them to their spirits.
