The Upper Moon Five and Four, Gyokko and Hantengu, launch a devastating attack on the Swordsmith village. Hantengu blasts Muichiro into the forest where he comes face-to-face with the Upper Moon Five Gyokko.

Gyokko attacks Muichiro and one of his poisoned needles strikes Hashira. Furthermore, he uses the Blood Demon Art to produce a vase and trap Muichiro inside it. The latter is about to give up but then, some memories flashed in front of Muichiro where he sees Tanjiro and his father.

Muichiro uses the Mist Breathing technique and finally breaks out of the pot. The demon slayer mark appears on Muichiro’s face as he begins to attack Gyokko. Eventually, the demon is forced to reveal his real form and now has increased speed and agility. Muichiro mocks him for thinking that he has not been taking this fight seriously. In the end, Muichiro appears in front of the demon from within the thick mist, decapitating Gyokko’s head.

The battle gets over with the demon dead and Muichiro surviving the battle although he trembles and falls on the ground. On the ground, the Hashira recalls Rengoku’s words about the importance of teamwork and he has visions of his parents as well as his brother.

Mitsuri intervenes in the battle between Hantengu’s manifestation of hatred, Zohakuten, and Tanjiro who is accompanied by Nezuko and Genya. She saves Tanjiro from Zohakuten’s Blood Demon Art and proclaims to release Nezuko and Genya.

Mitsuri dodges the attacks from Zohakuten and goes for the demon’s head using her whip-like sword, only to get warned by Tanjiro that the demon won’t die through decapitation. Zohakuten hits Mitsuri with sonic sound waves at a point-blank range, paralyzing the Hashira.

Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya push Mitsuri away from the battlefield, and receiving this affection from them she promises to not let anyone die. Mitsuri develops the demon slayer mark unconsciously, thus gaining strength and speed. The Love Hashira keeps on battling the dragons released by Zohakuten. Tanjiro notices that the main body has not been killed yet, so he grabs the sword and slices the giant demon’s body in half, and cuts through his neck.

The battle gets over with the death of Hantengu, but as Tanjiro mourns for his sister he sees that Nezuko is still alive and is able to walk in the open sun. The dragons released by Zohakuten slowly turn to ash and Mitsuri is glad to see that Tanjiro has killed the main body. Ultimately, Mitsuri too survives this battle.

To conclude, it is confirmed that the two characters who die in Demon Slayer Season 3 will be the Upper Moon Four Hantengu and the Upper Moon Five Gyokko. Fans of the series can rejoice in knowing that none of the Hashiras will die or be gravely injured in this season of the anime.
