When Does Season 3 of The Mandalorian Start?

With the Book of Boba Fett behind us, it seems likely that the third season of The Mandalorian is drawing closer. It’s been almost two years since the end of season two, though many fans received a treat while watching Boba Fett. In the latter part, the show transformed to Mandalorian season 2.5. The episodes showcased Din Djarin, Grogu, and a young Luke Skywalker.

Based on a report from TVLine, it’s likely that Mandalorian will begin airing this Christmas 2022. Historically, the show usually airs 12 months after it begins production. Production on the third season started in late 2021, according to Carl Weathers (Greef Karga).

If the confirmation comes later in the year, we’ll have three more shows to enjoy. The Rogue One spin-off Andor is also set to release in 2022, while the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will air in May.

The Book of Boba Fett revealed some interesting points in the Mandalorian’s story.

It shows how he’s still conflicted after removing his helmet in front of Grogu and the others. Din Djarin is also the current wielder of the dark saber and does not know if he’ll take on the responsibility of leading Mandalore. Grogu, on the other hand, is continuing to train under Luke Skywalker.

Apart from the Mandalorian, this year could see the beginnings of the production of the next Star Wars film. However, nothing is set in stone as delays can always happen, and schedule changes are frequent in the movie world.
