With its latest update of Genshin Impact, there is a new event in-game “Fulminating Sandstorm” and here is a thorough guide to help you through it.
Event Overview
In this event, the players have to help two Akademiyan researchers to fight against the threat of Wandering Wenut. For players to defeat the Wenut, they would have to help find the missing parts of the “Wenutslayer Cannon” and assemble it. To carry this event out the players need to take their teams against 4 and 5-star combats and perform all the necessary actions to complete “The Culling of the Worms“.
- The Culling of the Worms: Proposal – Proceed near Aaru Village, where you will encounter anxious researchers. Complete the dialogues with Vinayak and Shriya. As soon as you complete this, the next phase starts.
- The Culling of the Worms: Gathering Guide – Players will be transported to a barren desert location. In addition, they will be tasked with defeating enemies at 3 locations. After defeating these enemies you will recover the components of the device.
- The Culling of the Worms: Introduction Guide – Players will need to initiate another conversation with Vinayak, where they plan the next phase of their experiments. After this speak to him again to start the challenge. Players will need to assemble all three components while fighting enemies and Wenut to initiate the next phase. Remember you cannot kill Wenut now, so you will have to dodge him.
- The Culling of the Worms: Testing – After players have assembled the weapon, they will need to charge it with elemental energy and fire it at Wenut to finish the challenge.

Tips for Fulminating Sandstorm Event
- Interacting with elemental energy helps charge the weapon faster and can be obtained by luring Wenut towards the rocks or defeating enemies attracted by the charging device.
- Save your stamina to dodge Wenut, as you won’t be able to defeat it until you have the weapon ready.
- Wenut damages other enemies as well, so lure him towards them and dodge out of it.
- Make use of catalyst characters during the event.
Eligibility
There are only two eligibility criteria for this mission and are as follows:
- The player should be at least Adventure Rank 28.
- The player must have completed the prerequisite Archon Quest “A new star approaches”.
Event Duration
The event is available to play from April 21, 2023, 10:00:00 AM – May 01, 2023, 03:59:59 AM. Make sure you are able to complete the event as it is gonna reward you sufficiently.
