Servamp Anime – Where to watch? And is it worth watching?

Servamp Anime where to watch

Servamp Anime does not set itself out to do anything out of the ordinary. It is set in a familiar setting that has been used many times before. A typical high school student is suddenly exposed to the supernatural and is transported into an entirely different world. At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be anything particularly unique about it. And yet, even years after its release (2016), fans still ask – Where to Watch Servamp?

Is Servamp Anime worth watching though?

  • Mahiru Shirota believes in a simple and trouble-free life. However, his belief is challenged when he encounters a stray cat on his way home from school and decides to take it in as his own. Naming the cat Kuro, Mahiru unknowingly sets off a series of events that will change his life forever.

However, what sets this story apart is the fact that the supernatural creature in question is actually the laziest character in the show.

This injects a sense of humor into the otherwise serious tone of the story, as the creature regularly makes witty remarks about how they would rather take a nap than engage in anything remotely troublesome.

Mahiru’s predicaments do not end with his neko-transforming capacities

  • Upon arriving home one day, Mahiru discovers a mysterious young man in his house, whom he has never seen before.
  • In a panic, Mahiru exposes the stranger to sunlight, causing him to transform into Kuro, the cat he took in. It is revealed that Kuro is, in fact, a lazy shut-in vampire who promises to leave once night falls.

Despite his intentions, a string of unfortunate events leads Mahiru to accidentally form a contract with Kuro, making him his servant.

This unwittingly drags Mahiru into a dangerous battle against bloodthirsty beings and other supernatural servants, completely upending his simple and trouble-free life.

A dent in Mahiru’s place as a protagonist in the Servamp Anime

The protagonist of the story is a typical hero who strives to protect their friends and do what is right. While this trait can come off as generic at times, what captivated me was the introduction of Kuro as the second main character.

Despite being one of the laziest individuals on the planet, Kuro possesses incredible power when it is required, and often provides comic relief.

As the story progresses, Kuro’s character begins to undergo development as we gain insight into his past and the events that shaped him. This character arc adds depth to the story, making it even more engaging for the audience. Now, getting to the main question –

Where to Watch Servamp Anime?

Servamp was animated by Funimation, and it was released way back in 2016. As such, there are multiple platforms that host Anime currently in 2023. Although we didn’t find it in most countries’ Netflix catalogs. We did find it in these –

  1. For Latin American, North American, and certain European countries, one can head to Roku streaming to catch the anime head-first.
  2. Additionally, one can easily catch the Servamp Anime on Amazon Prime.
  3. It is also available for Crunchyroll. And if you can, check Funimation’s official site which is also a streaming site. As it happens to be, Funimation and Crunchyroll have merged as of late.
  4. Strike Tanaka’s Servamp Anime is also available for streaming on Muse Asia’s official YouTube channel. Muse Asia primarily adheres to Asian audiences.

In addition to India, the anime is also available for streaming in countries such as Bangladesh, Brunei, Bhutan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, making it accessible to a wider audience.
