‘What is the FBI hiding?’: Angry netizens demand the release of Nashville school shooter’s manifesto

Audrey Hale Nashville school shooter trans manifesto FBI

Increasingly frustrated with the investigation into the Nashville school shooting that occurred three weeks ago, American citizens are using social media to demand that the FBI release the manifesto left by the shooter, Audrey Hale. Until now, the manifesto of Hale has not been released to the public, which is usual for law enforcement and media in cases like this.

On March 27, the 28-year-old Audrey Hale barged into the Covenant School in Nashville with guns and started shooting. The shooter killed three 9-year-old students and three adult faculty members before being shot down by the police. Later, it was discovered that Hale identified as transgender. Hale was previously a student at the Christian elementary school and had been planning the attack on the school for a while.

Exploring the manifesto left behind by the Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale

Audrey Hale started attacking the school, but the police shot and killed her quickly. Later, the officers found a lot of things such as hand-drawn maps, a suicide note, journals, laptops, phones, and some writings in her home and car.

The police shared all these things with the FBI’s behavioral analysis unit in Virginia, and it shows that Hale was planning the attack for months. However, they have not released the manifesto yet, and the investigation is still ongoing.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation director, David Rausch, said in a TV interview that it was not appropriate to call Hale’s writings a “manifesto.”

Why are American netizens demanding the manifesto’s release?

A lot of Americans want to read the Nashville school shooter’s manifesto because they think it will show a violent trans extremist agenda. Many of them are worried that more Christian schools will be attacked because of what Audrey Hale did.

According to a survey by Rasmussen Reports, the majority of people are pressuring the Nashville police to release Hale’s writings, although officials are saying they are just “journal-type rantings.”

For some people, Hale’s choice to attack the Christian school she went to, and her transgender identity, indicate that the attack was part of violent transgender activism.

Elon Musk draws comparison to Unabomber manifesto

Twitter CEO Elon Musk compared the way Nashville shooter Audrey Hale’s manifesto was handled to how the Unabomber’s manifesto was handled. The Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, was a domestic terrorist who killed 23 people by mailing bombs from 1978 to 1995.

His manifesto came out in The New York Times and The Washington Post shortly before the cops caught him. However, the situations of Audrey Hale and Kaczynski are different.
