In an episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, Kathy Hilton shared her reaction to Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s separation.
Paris Hilton’s mom admitted that she was brokenhearted when she heard the news but had nothing but praise for her sister’s strength. “Kyle, believe it or not, she’s the youngest, but she’s the strongest [and] she’s bossiest … She’s very strong. She’s resilient,” she said.
Aside from her sister, Kathy also showed her support for her nieces, Farrah Brittany, whom Kyle shares with her ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie, and Alexa, Sophia, and Portia, whom Kyle shares with Mauricio. As she expresses her love for these kids, she wishes nothing but happiness for Kyle.
So, does she think there’s a chance for the pair to get together?
“There’s no way that Kyle would’ve gone this far unless she really thought about it,” Kathy explained.
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Spent Thanksgiving Together Despite Split
Despite confirming their split, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky reunited to spend Thanksgiving with their kids. In a post on his Instagram story, Mauricio gave a glimpse of their reunion, and the two looked amicable with each other.
“OK, the turkey has been cut, and it has been cooked. Let me see it. Can you lift up the turkey?” he asked Kyle, who lifted the lids of the dishes filled with food. Kyle couldn’t help but laugh at her ex’s request and took his followers on a tour of their kitchen.
The former couple shares clips and photos of their celebrations on their respective Instagram accounts to share their holiday festivities with their followers. Aside from their family, they hosted about 15 or 16 people during the special event.

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky officially announced their separation in July 2023 after tying the knot in 1996.
“We have had a rough year,” the pair shared, partly via social media at the time. “The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately.”
At the time, a source allegedly close to the couple revealed that the two had been separated for a while but were still living together under one roof. “They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family,” the tipster added via Yahoo!
Kyle revealed that she had let Mauricio stay in the primary bedroom while she was on the second floor of their shared home.
Us Weekly added that they weren’t divorcing, while another source claimed that they hadn’t hired attorneys nor had either filed for divorce yet. Despite the tension between the two, they would like to keep things as normal as possible for their children’s sake.
By the looks of it, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s separation is like no other in the entertainment business. Amid the bloody court battles between the divorcing celebrity couples, these two choose to be amicable for the sake of their children. That’s a great parenting skill they have there, and many laud them for that.
