However, the setting is a bit different. We see that Shanks is on a boat. The Sea King bites off a portion of the boat as well. It is unclear how Shanks will save Luffy in the Live Action. We expect a young Luffy to be one the same boat.
Luffy rescues Coby in the One Piece Live Action
The trailer has showcased at least two instances of Luffy and Alvida crossing paths. In their initial meeting, Luffy liberates Coby by delivering a powerful punch to Alvida.
This scene likely marks one of the earliest events in the series, establishing the foundation for Luffy and Coby’s journey to Shells town in order to save Zoro. In this scene, we also see the amazing CGI of the anime as Luffy lands his first Gomu Gomu no Pistol on a surprised Alvida.
Intriguingly, the trailer also presents a moment where the Straw Hat pirates confront the entirety of Alvida’s crew.
Luffy rescues Zoro from Morgan
In the trailer, we see Zoro in Morgan’s execution ground located in Shells Town. We witness Luffy engaging in a conversation with Zoro within the confines of the execution ground, and the adaptation remains faithful to the manga.
Subsequently, we observe the Straw Hat pirates engaging in combat against Morgan’s marines. We also get a glimpse of Zoro’s signature Three-Sword style of swordsmanship.
However, this is where the One Piece Live Action diverges from the original manga. Nami also fights alongside Luffy and Zoro, which brings about significant changes. This implies that Nami becomes the initial member to join the Straw Hat Pirates. Consequently, the identity of the unofficial first mate of Luffy in the One Piece Live Action becomes uncertain.
Arlong has been confirmed in the One Piece Live Action – We should see Arlong Park
- The One Piece Live Action cast confirms McKinley Belcher III as the actor portraying Arlong. This suggests that the series will likely take us to Arlong Park following the conclusion of the Baratie arc.
- Thus, we expect the entire Straw Hat Pirates crew, including Sanji after he joins, to confront Arlong. The One Piece Live Action has faithfully adapted some of the scenes from the manga. An example of this is the Straw Hat Pirates’ toast prior to their venture into the grand line, which is impeccably replicated.
This indicates that, by the end of the series, the Straw Hat Pirates will indeed set foot into the grand line. Another intriguing detail to observe is that Luffy dons the same shirt in this scene as he does when his ship comes under fire from Garp’s Admiral Ship. This suggests that Luffy may encounter his grandfather at an earlier stage in the Live Action, possibly just before their entry into the grand line.
