OpenAI: What Is The GPT Store And How The Feature Works

GPT Store Featured Chatbots

In the years that passed, OpenAI has been a popular tool among people. To help users in finding the perfect chatbots for their needs, OpenAI launched the newest GPT Store. It’s not only ChatGPT but yes, there are various versions that people make that cater to each of anyone’s needs. May it be for work, education, or even leisure, we’re pretty certain that there’s a chatbot for you in the GPT Store. So, here’s an explanation of the feature, how it works, and if it’s free to use.

What Is The GPT Store For?

Oh, it’s a good day to be an AI chatbot user, is it? On January 11, OpenAI announced the launch of the GPT Store via a blog. According to their announcement, the GPT Store was dropped “to help you find useful and popular custom versions of ChatGPT.” Yes, OpenAI already released the newest feature, so you can check it out now.

Instead of finding a custom chatbot in search engines, OpenAI made the store to keep all the ChatGPT versions in one place. So if you need help in writing or editing photos, or even wondering about your next tattoo, you can find a custom version chatbot for that. Just head to the GPT Store, and find your perfect match to use.

Just like the App Store or Google Play, the GPT Store also works the same. It holds millions of GPTs, which builders created to help other users. If you’re not in the mood to search, you can rely on what’s trending in the GPT Store. Just choose the category you wish to use, and discover the popular chatbots among the users.

Of course, OpenAI and the GPT Store will also feature custom versions that are “useful and impactful” for its users. As of this week, there are four GPTs featured in the store, you may check out the image below!

If you have something in mind, you may search for it on the GPT Store, and more likely than not, there’s a custom chatbot that would help you.

  • Can I add my GPT? Absolutely. If you wish to contribute to the millions of GPTs, you can create yours and add them to the Store for others to use. Save your GPT for Everyone, and then verify your Builder Profile — that’s it! However, do read and understand OpenAI’s usage policies and GPT brand guidelines to make sure your version is good to go.

Are Chatbots Free To Use?

For the million-dollar question, unfortunately, it’s not free to use if you’re on a free ChatGPT subscription. You can check out the store, but won’t be able to use the chatbots. You can use the custom versions on the GPT Store if you have a ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise subscription. Here are the rates of ChatGPT plans, and what it offers. You can also purchase the Enterprise for more needs, so read more about it here.

Moreover, more details will be posted about the payments, so stay tuned with OpenAI.
