PS5: “More Coming Out” Says SVP of Platform Experience

PS5 More Coming Out Says SVP of Platform Experience

Sony PlayStation 5 has had a bitter-sweet journey ever since it was launched. It came loaded with incredible new features, an amazing DualSense controller, and some great games. But at the same time, it has faced massive stock availability issues since its inception. Days ago, it received a massive restock, so maybe that issue would now slowly resolve. What’s interesting now is that the SVP of Platform Experience has tempted fans with some hints about PS5’s future.

What’s Next?

Hideaki Nishino, the SVP of Platform Experience hinted towards the future of PS5 console in the latest Sony Playstation blog interview. He talked about the latest update and what challenges/procedures they underwent to launch the massive update. Then when asked we revealed a little about what we can expect from PlayStation next.

  • 3D Audio through the TV speakers

Fans have been asking for this for a long time now and it seems like PlayStation is already working on it. When asked about it, Nishino replied affirmatively and described it as being the key part of their vision. So, it is all but confirmed that sooner or later, 3D audio on TV Speakers will arrive at the console. There is no doubt in the fact that 3D audio creates a more immersive experience. So, 3D audio on TV speakers would also eliminate the need for headphones as well.

  • “There’s a Lot, We Need to Do”

Without being specific, Nishino san said that there was a list of things that they need to do. He emphasized that there are a lot of interesting, exciting, and fantastic ideas which they want to implement on PS5. He also mentioned that the community is also asking for a lot of things, and they are keeping tabs on that. In fact, he shared that almost all the decisions are taken according to the needs of the community.

Comments on the Latest Update

Hideaki Nishino – SVP, Platform Experience, SIE

Nishino shared his experience of bringing the latest massive PS5 update to life. He threw some light on the fact that they underwent many heated debates and discussions before coming to the decision of PS5 storage through M.2 SSD. Apart from that, he also picked his favorite part of the update which is something he’d love to implement in his personal gaming.

“We launched many features with the September Update, but one I’m personally enjoying is the trophy tracker. Of course, I want to get more trophies and show them off. The trophy tracker allows me to easily pin the trophies I’m tracking down,” he excitingly said.

On a technical note, he also explained the design process for a system update and how they put it all together. He also went on to tell a humorous personal story about the share screen feature (through the PlayStation App). Finally, he ended on a positive note by saying he was excited for the community feedback and the new upcoming features.

  1. It’s good to know updates about ps5. But one thing Sony is not doing right by avoiding ps4 console. They have also done the mistake by avoiding consoles ps1, ps2 and ps3 which is not professional. Games should be introduced on resolution basis for eg if you are on ps4 resolution will be 1080p.ps5 resolution will be 4k.sony must not avoid previous generation console ps4. If ps6 comes out Sony will start avoiding ps5. If Sony cares about people they should not avoid making games on ps4. Ps5 should also be given preference. If you have latest console you will play on better resolution. If you have old console resolution would be little less. Previous console should not be avoided which Sony made mistake by avoiding ps1 to ps3. Sony profit should also not suffer and games should be given consideration on both ps4 and ps5. If you have ps5 better resolution and ps4 resolution would be good also. It depends on person he wants to play games on 1080p or 4k resolution. But ps4 console should not be avoided. Backwards compatibility should be given preference. If ps6 comes out ps5 should also be not avoided.
